Mother of the Free

A Canadian HRC's wet dream:

A wealthy businessman was arrested at home in front of his wife and young son over an email which council officials deemed ‘offensive’ to gipsies – but which he had not even written.

The email, concerning a planning appeal by a gipsy, included the phrase: ‘It’s the 'do as you likey' attitude that I am against.’

Council staff believed the email was offensive because ‘likey’ rhymes with the derogatory term ‘pikey’.

The 45-year-old IT boss was held in a police cell for four hours until it was established he had nothing to do with the email, which had been sent by one of his then workers, Paul Osmond.

In modern Britain a housewife can't use a knife to defend herself (see the below post), but a subject of the Crown can be arrested on suspicion of writing an e-mail only a neurotic would find offensive. HT

Absurd!

There is no hope. We need another planet where only people with functioning brains are allowed.

Orwell would have likely considered such state actions too ridiculous in fiction (or prophecy) to be believable. Rand might have used it and would have been criticized at the time for the use of implausible story lines. What, if anything, must they do about actual crime in the UK?

Well, so much for the land of the free. After reading this article I looked up a rhyming dictionary on Google and tried to see if there were any offensive slurs/slang that rhymes with "human rights commission". But sadly couldn't find anything that would even count as mildly offensive that rhymed. It was worth a try anyway.

Sheldon, commission rhymes with a few things. omission, mortician, sedition...

Human rhymes with inhuman. And rights rhymes with bites, rites, and incites.

Maybe we could work with that.

The Inhuman Rites Omission!

This shows precisely why Great Britain really truly is no more.

Not a trace of this once great, liberal nation exists today.

In Britain a man's home was once his castle; the home invasion he suffered for the lunatic reason described above would once have been grounds for the immediate deaths of the bureaucratic invaders.
