Joe Pantalone hates progress

Toronto Mayoral candidate Joe Pantalone has long opposed the development and enrichment of Ossington. This according to a National Post article a few days ago:

The issue on this part of Queen West, much like a section of Ossington Avenue, was "too much change, too fast," said Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone, who represents a portion of the affected area. "And therefore a sense of equilibrium was lost, and there has been push back that the residents want to protect their quality of life."

By this he means that the people who voted for him are unhappy. Never mind what it may do for the rest of the community. Government should stop development and progress because Mr. Pantalone's political base is threatened.

Mr. Pantalone, in short, would destroy Toronto.

Hug, I wonder if it can even be said it is his political base? More likely it is a small but vocal part of his political base. Whatever it is though, I would expect the winners to be the current business owners at the expense of the people. These new regulations would restrict more competitive businesses from coming in and taking a share of the business. Mr. Pantalone's slogan should be "A vote for me is a vote for more expense and less choice."

Umm, good? Is there any way I and others can throw wood on that fire? Toronto DESERVES to be destroyed!

Pike, you don't really mean all of Toronto do you?

Yes, all of it. Even the GTA. Heck, if I could, every square inch of Ontario would be gone. We could have Hudson Bay extend all the way to Ohio. I want it to be nothing more than a bad memory.

Pike, I thought it was just the rich white people? There are other people there too.

Send them all back to where they came from. Okay maybe leave the land - it is impossible to do anyway. But all whites, Africans, and Asians ought to return to Europe, Africa and Asia. Only the original inhabitants, the Natives, should remain in what was Ontario. And there are no poor white people there - all whites are rich by virtue of their skin color. Don't deny it, I've seen it happen.
