Googlegate conspiracy debunked. Thanks to me.

Since it's become clear that nobody has done any honest research into the kerfuffle behind the "Islam is" Google Suggest Googlegate scandal, I decided to spend some time doing some of my own analysis of Google's suggest system.

I spent a great deal of time last night searching literally hundreds of different keywords and combinations of different phrasal tenses.

Predictably, I found plenty of cases where Google is not showing expected suggestions for plenty of other terms. In some cases, we find quite unexpected results. Let's take a look at some of the examples from my research:

Europeans versus Americans versus Canadians:

Europe

America

Canadians

Mormons versus Jews versus Christians:

Mormons

Jews

Christians

Google versus Microsoft

Google1

Microsoft

I'd also venture to say that Google is far kinder to Jesus than to Muhammad:

Jesus

Muhammad

...

So what's the moral of this story? It's simple: following the lead of jingoistic, conservative reactionaries, who like to fantasize the whole world is conspiring against them and adopting delusions of Christ-like persecution and victimization is a surefire way to find yourself buried in a steaming pile of misinformation and deception.

You can't fool me with your so-called "research".

Google is racist. Just type in 'Obama is'.

Rob R,

Compared to simply comparing "Islam is" to "Christianity is", yes. Yes it is.

I'm sorry that you are unable to deal with reason and logic. Your link will be sorely missed.

I think you should have added "libertarians are". It's not relevant to your post but still rather amusing ;)

Try "Bush is". Looks like "Obama is". Fortunately, I don't need google to tell me what "Islam is". Or any other religion.

Incidentally the first thing that came to mind when I heard 'islam is' was not returning results was that they were blocking a certain
positive result

Steve,

I had the same thought. "Bush is a reptile" was a first for me!

Thanks Mike: I have a post up at my place.

According to your research and a bit of my own, Google is comprised of a cabal of American Islamochristjews (a dastardly new one world religion) led by Jack Layton (check out Harper is vs Ignatieff is vs Layton is) run out of the Western Standard office (see western standard is) that is hiding the truth from people who are too lazy to enter their own search terms.

I wonder if Google should be "allowed" to do their business as they see fit?

Have you noticed there is a socialist in the White House Mike? When were you planning on maybe kinda sorta criticizing him for a change and getting off your anti-conservative jag?

You think readers here don't notice you and your fellow Shotgunners are giving an ubersocialist like Obama a free pass, which is to say tacit approval? And you expect us - not the potheads, but the few smart readers here left over from when this place was once actually somewhat anti-statist - to take you seriously as an anti-statist?

Like, whoa, I'll take two hits from whatever bong you're smoking, dude.

Obama Critic,

Have you noticed that in my more than six years of blogging I've actually commented very little on American politics at all? Has it perhaps occurred to you that when I'm criticizing conservatives, it's in the Canadian context?

Insofar as American politics goes, and my commentary, I refer you to my recent post called "The men who knew" where I endorsed Ron Paul's assessment of US affairs, which as far as I know, is not pro-Obama, tacit or otherwise.

I'm aware that most other leading conservative bloggers have a heavy focus on American politics, and generally always have. But I haven't. So my lack of commentary on Obama should surprise nobody.

In fact, I pay so little attention to day to day American politics that weeks went by before I even realized that healthcare reform legislation had been passed. And to be honest, I don't know much about it really.

Even if I did give a shit about the day to day American politics, I'm not sure what good you think it could possibly do; conservatives and socialists have driven the country into the ground. Bush ran up the largest deficit in history and sattled Obama with the worst economy in a century. The Republicans support the same inflationary economic policies as the democrats. All Obama is doing is driving the US economy towards it's ultimate demise. Which is what Bush was doing too. It's what McCain would have done.

You want me to be outraged? I am outraged. At how fucking stupid both Republicans and Democrats are.

Republicans are sitting on the edge of their seat hoping that Sarah Palin throws in. Except she's more of a doorknob than Nancy Pelosi. And Nancy Pelosi is pretty fucking dumb.

What do you want from me? I have nothing to say. Other than the fact I'm hoping that this country doesn't follow the US mistakes, which it seems more and more we are.

So instead of complaining about my lack of focus on Obama, maybe you should go fill your own void? Get a blog.

Republicans are going to take back this continent away from the damn statists and islamists.Republicans are coming and not a moment too soon either.

Posted by: Joshua | 2010-01-19 10:26:36 AM

Yes, I'm never critical of Islam. That's why Warren Kinsella calls me an Islamophobe. That's why I supported Ezra Levant loudly and vocally against that Sowahardy guy. That's why I went to Ryerson University and slammed the Muslim lawyers who championed respect for their religion over our liberal rights (http://www.smalldeadanimals.com/archives/007864.html).

I have been MORE than critical of Islam, to the point where I received death threats, you little turd.

I have gone to event after event, taken to the microphone, and slammed those crazy assholes demanding Sharia Law.

I criticize Christianity too, it so happens. Why? Because I'm an anti-theist. Your attempts to get me to shut up about the idiocy of conservative policies over some bullshit reasoning that I should devote more attention to Islam shows just how fucking crazy many conservatives are, why I'm not one, why they've helped destroy America, and why I oppose them.

Piss off.

The idea that Republicans aren't statists actually gave me a good laugh Joshua. Thanks.

Jesus H Christ. No wonder nobody bothers to comment here, any more. The posters are crazier than the commentors.
