Leigh Sullivan endorses Danielle Smith
With the internet playing an increasingly important role in connecting voters to candidates in modern politics, it’s important to pay attention to the blogosphere.
Alberta-based Leigh Patrick Sullivan, who owns The Moderate Separatist blog, is someone I drop in on whenever I can.
In a recent story on the Wildrose Alliance leadership race, Sullivan gives readers his take on the declared candidates, Mark Dyrholm and Danielle Smith, after interviewing them both. Here’s an excerpt of that post:
Mark Dyrholm has a strong team, strong connections, experience, and an unquestioned desire and ability to lead the Wildrose Alliance and indeed the province to a better place.
Danielle Smith shares my libertarian values, my fiscal conservative leanings, my Alberta-first mindset, and possesses a certain charisma that is essential for a leader, especially in Alberta.
In the end, after fair and careful consideration, he gives his endorsement to Danielle Smith.

Alberta First? Danielle? I guess that is what we call people who supported the Charlottetown Accord.
Thank God I am a Tory if Dyrholm and Smith are the best you have.
Go Willerton Go!

I seem to recall many Albertans supported the Charlottetown and Meech Lake accords, including the provinical Tories.
Personally, I'd rather have a leader who was in favour of that then one who has made a public ass of himself fighting gays at a parade.

Alberta first! As an Albertan I have to agree.
And as a Nova Scotian or Manitoban I would also have to agree with the same sentiment. Whatever it takes to get the Feds out of all our back yards.

Willerton has this one in the bag!
Dyrholm is too moderate and selling out! Sorry Mark, but if you were a real social conservative Jeff would not have entered the race.
Smith is too Liberal!
Willerton is just right!
Smith is liberal, Mark is a centrist and Willerton is right wing.
The choice is clear. Willerton For Premier

I don't see Smith as a Liberal...not in today's sense of the word anyway. I think Smith is actually a Live and Let Live Centrist.

Willerton would never get enough votes to become premier.
Smith is the only candidate who is 'electable'.
Sorry folks, but the days of the Social Credit-style government is long past and forgotten.

Somebody please tell the dazed and confused Craig B. Chandler that. And ask him to retract his unseemly and seedy smear of Danielle.
I personally am prepared to contribute to a book fund, of standard polisci texts, that explain to Craig the difference between 'libertarian' and 'liberal', in its contemporary neocon conception.
I also am hoping Craig will finally man up rather than scurrying around like one of the characters in the unfortunate flick, "Mean Girls".

If you disagree with Dyrholm handler Craig Chandler, you can't possibly be from around here: "I will not respond to you any further in this campaign. You are not a member and do not live in Alberta."
Even better, if you disagree with Dyrholm handler Craig Chandler, you might as well leave: http://tinyurl.com/ljngwm
For the record, Craig, I believe this Prairie boy was already in Alberta while you were still busy confusing the issue back home in Ontario ;-)

C'mon, Willerton is running as a lark. His own auto biography paints him as a failure. And, who in the world, other than Willerton, has an auto biography that amounts to 30 pages? I guess either brevity was an issue or the man has had no life experience to speak of.
30 pages of failure. Willerton for Premiere!!! hohoho

C'mon, Willerton is running as a lark.
Oh thank God! Guess I should have clue'd in to that. Especially when his autobiography is only slightly shorter than the "Book of Irish Cuisine" eh? ;-)
