Danielle Smith responds to Doug Elniski controversy
Yesterday, the Western Standard reported that Alberta NDP MLA Rachel Notley has demanded an immediate apology from Tory MLA Doug Elniski for sexist comments recently posted on his blog.
Today, Wildrose Alliance leadership candidate Danielle Smith responds magnanimously to the controversy in an exclusive Western Standard interview:
"I'll give Elniski credit for apologizing with great sincerity and taking down his blog," said Smith. "He's got 3 grown daughters, so I imagine he's already received an earful from them."

That would be enough if these kinds of sexist comments didn't come out of the current provincial government with alarming regularity.
These people give conservatism a bad name.

Are there any biggots in the Wildrose Alliance party?

I just assume all MLAs regardless of party to be morons until proven otherwise.

"I just assume all MLAs regardless of party to be morons until proven otherwise."
That's hardly a surprise, Epsi; you assume all men to be morons until proven otherwise, and most of them are men.

Give it rest, Kirstin. Women make sexist remarks about men all the time, yet for some reason are never called to account for them. It's not men's fault women in this country are so thin-skinned. Comes from indulgence. We need to demand more of them, not less.

Awwwwww, is Shanie-girl still mad at me? You are as catty as any woman I know. Give it a rest until your period is over Shane.

Let's clap our hands. The Smith Standard strikes again.
Whatever.

Hmmmm, Shane, that's kind of an overblown, dare I say "oversensitive" reaction to my short comment. :)

Shane has poor emotional control and is very easy to send over the deep end and therefore easy to manipulate. He is basically whipped and this is his only outlet for his frustrations with females!
Just watch, he will deliberately not react to my post here just to try to prove the point that I cannot get under his skin!
Come on Shane, don't be a *****. Say something! And it would be impressive if you said something nice by the way!

Epsilon, I think you've hit the nail on the head. :)

"Awwwwww, is Shanie-girl still mad at me? You are as catty as any woman I know. Give it a rest until your period is over Shane."
Stinging rebuttal, Epsi. How long do you think you can go on personal smears alone?

"Shane has poor emotional control and is very easy to send over the deep end and therefore easy to manipulate. He is basically whipped and this is his only outlet for his frustrations with females!"
It's not my posts you'll find plastered with all caps and exclamation points, Epsi. Who's the emotional one?
"Just watch, he will deliberately not react to my post here just to try to prove the point that I cannot get under his skin!"
So if I react, I prove your point; if I don't react, I prove your point; and you call this great debating? Well, two can play that game. Watch: Epsi will demonstrate her unreasonable stubborness by continuing to breathe...
"Come on Shane, don't be a *****. Say something! And it would be impressive if you said something nice by the way!"
Ladies first.

Best comment yet is from Danielle Smith.
And Kirstin...these days its the "Conservatives" who are giving conservatism a bad name.

Shane, do you need a job? Why on earth do you think your life's energy is best spent filling this blog with page after page of bloody nonsense?
I can help you.
