More on the CHRC

As per the earlier post, below, the Liberal Party of Canada wants to make the CHRC accountable to Parliament (good), but it also wants to expand the scope of the commission (bad. very bad). Too bad that delegates weren't able to read my CHRC-related column, in today's National Post, before making their decision. My look at the Alice-in-Wonderland, anti-free-speech nature of the Act would surely have opened a few eyes. Surely.

I doubt it. The grits have become so statist that nothing seems to open their eyes. This is true madness.

You place a lot of confidence in yourself to be the ultimate persuader on the issue. I somehow doubt your article would have shifted the positions of many.

If logical, evidentiary arguments were convincing to people, half of America wouldn't disbelieve in evolution.

My use of a second "surely" was meant to tip off the reader that I was being ironic. I did not seriously think that my little bit of scribbling would or could shake some sense into the heads of the addled ruling class.

Thank you Terry for the excellent article. No one would except that a single article or single writer would likely convince people, however each article and each writer exposing this cancer always helps. Until rather recently the issue was ignored by MSM and the public, unless one had the misfortune of being a victim of a Stalinist tribunal, so there can never be too much exposure.

Until the Editorial board of some mainstream newspaper has the collective gonads to write Front Page Editorials about the toxic methods of the current Human Rights Tribunals, individual dissenting journalist's op-ed pieces (regardless of how well written) will have minimum effect on the corrupt politicians in this country to "fire them all".
As a matter of fact, now is exactly the time to rip the egghead Iggy a new one, regarding his take and remake of the scope of the HRC's.
