Excerpt from Loyal to the Core

As you may have heard, I have a book due to come out at the end of February called Loyal to the Core: Harper, me and the NCC.

It's part memoir, part political history and part cautionary tale for Canada's conservative movement.

Anyway, today the Toronto Sun is carrying an excerpt from my book. And if you read it, you will see it's more than a little ironic in light of Tuesday's budget.

You can pre-order Loyal to the Core here.

"Because I don't want my kids to grow up in a socialist country".

Ouch. It's a painful thing to be unsuccessful in defending ones children from such things. It's something else when one is intentionally exposing ones children to such things.

I cannot claim to know what Stephen Harper really wants, what role he thinks he is playing, etc. However, if his reason for entering politics was to ensure a non-socialist Canada for his children, I cannot imagine the personal hell he must be going through if that STILL is his reason for being in politics.

Oh, one quibble Gerry, if there's still time to change it: "But...however..." (in your Sun excerpt today).

Better that PMOC takes careful steps in political minefield full of crushed political corpses, newly hatched hoards of balaclava-hooded idiot flies, and craggy ruins hosting nests of Marx-knows-best socialists greasing their gattling guns of lies. Better our current PMOC to face off with the new POTUS. This minefield has troubled waters.
