The problem I have with Al's argument that "things are different now" is this is all part of an agenda. The left and the interventionsts, who didn't even see this crisis coming, now want to scare the crap out of us. Why? So they can advance their agenda of big nanny state government to intervene in all matters of the economy.
Reminds me of the 30s when the banks left depositers dicks hanging in the wind...only to be bailed out with taxpayer dough. That was unjust then and it is unjust now to bail out the losers with our cash.
And we can see from the US experience that stimulus has FAILED.
