Santa Claus is a Canadian citizen

Jason Kenney, minister of citizenship, immigration, and multiculturalism, has made Santa Claus a Canadian citizen:

“The Government of Canada wishes Santa the very best in his Christmas Eve duties and wants to let him know that, as a Canadian citizen, he has the automatic right to re-enter Canada once his trip around the world is complete,” Kenney said in an official statement.

Well, good, I guess. I wonder how many rules and regulations Santa has violated in the past by blowing by customs and immigration, failing to pay taxes on all those presents, failing to pay tariffs and duties, basically dropping off toys that haven't been inspected by the appropriate government agency, delivering drug paraphernelia like bongs and Cheech and Chong movies, and so on and so forth. Everybody relax. I'm just kidding. There is no such thing as government.

UPDATE: For U.S. government Santa-related shenanigans, see here.

Santa Claus is a Canadian citizen (?)
Do you think he had to stand in a two hour line in order to speak with a surly passport clerk?
That would definately qualify him as Canadian.

Boy you people are desperate for attention. This is like the time Winnipeg tried to make Homer Simpson a citizen. Uh, they're fictional characters, much like your national identity. Whiners.

JC- No doubt someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas either? Nor speak either official language fluently?

Exactly dp. Its also why I refuse to fly through the Toronto airport anymore.

And Zeb, trust you to be sour, miserable and shallow. When did you stop being Canadian ?..."you people"... my ass.
Maybe now that you're in the land of the war drum you've "gone native"?

JC: only rich white Toronto people can be Canadian. No others need apply.

JC- Calgary airport is bad enough for me. The last time I went through security, every single person was non-white. That's not what I consider fair hiring practise, nor is it very secure.

The Honourable Jason Kenney, P.C., M.P.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada

Dear Minister Kenney:

I understand from a recent Edmonton Sun (Sun Media-Canoe) news article that you have offered and arranged for my Canadian citizenship. I'm delighted to hear it! As you know, my LEGAL name is Santa Claus, and I am a U.S. citizen. I would like to obtain and maintain dual (US-CA) citizenship. Please let me know how to proceed, in light of your unexpected announcement.
