Hey commenters!

A note to readers and commenters:

Typepad, our blogging software, is going through a fairly major upgrade and you may find that on some posts your comments will not appear immediately.

You have two options: be patient and wait for your comment to appear or treat this post's comment thread as a free-for-all where you can talk about whatever you're not able to discuss elsewhere.

I like cheese. Well most cheese. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Pete, cheese is a UN tax-and-spend power grab. There is no scientific consensus on cheese. We need a return of men like Churchill who called cheese the cheap, congealed dairy product it was.

And what about Cow's rights eh?
Save the Cow's!!!!!!
Cheese should fall under Bovine Property Rights! Dammit!!!
;)

They tried putting cheese under the Bovine Property Rights act in the early 80's, but then Goats Against Yoplait Managing Everything Neat lobbied against the exclusivist definition of cheese as between a cow and a churner. Remember that whole deal where Charest had almost sealed up the PC leadership nomination until those attack ads ran about how he experimented with Feta in college? Switftbuttered. No one's going to re-open that issue for years. It's a career killer.

Good point Steve,
I hadn't thought about the goats and their needs.
Perhaps what we need is an Animal Collective.
We could call it the Canadian Real Animal Products Office, or CRAPO. This would include everything from Chickens (Factory and free range) to honey bees. We could elect a Bull to run it and surround him with Pigs as chairs and co chairs. The production of all Agricultural Products could then be regulated and distibuted under, under what hmmmm... Hey! under a 5 year plan!!! I think this idea has merit and could really go places. Lets start with a government study and analysis of the benefits provided, not to the people, but to the newly created bureaucracy itself. :)
