Ho Ho Ho...say is that your paycheck?
I'll be needing about 39% of that for some nut tighteners in Ontario...
Merrrrryyyyy Christmas.

Heartfelt and sincere. Contrast it with Ignatieff's mawkish drivel!

If the Stooges bring this government down, it will be a black, black day for this wonderful country. Expect a recession far beyond the worst nightares of the media; expect civil unrest; expect provinces to stop co-operating with Ottawa and look after themselves; expect capital to flee from the country; above all, expect our most precious resource---skilled and mobile human capital---to give up on Canada.

expect provinces to stop co-operating with Ottawa and look after themselves;

I don't see that(aspect)as being a problem, in fact I think its way overdue.

Patrick B, how could the coalition be any worse - surely they can't out do $30 in extra waste Harper has promised.

A big lump of coal for Harper for not having the courage to cut spending and running us into multi-year deficits.

Cut spending from where? And I don't mean just a few million from here and there. It would have to be billions and from many different things. Discuss...

I'm game. I made a list on excel quite some time back:

3) 1.4 B income assistance to first nations
4) 1.2 B heritage transfers
5) 1 B Agricultural income stabilization
6) 1 B Energy sustainable development
7) 800 m technology partners & econ development
8) 800 m health research grants
9) 600 m governance band support
10) 600 m investment capital for natives
11) 500 m integration for immigrants
12) 1.1 B for the regional economic develop programs
13) 400 m UN funding

And lastly provincial welfare, aka Fiscal Arrangements, aka transfers of 13 billion

...what about Official Bilingualism?

Posted by: tomax7 | 2008-12-24 3:54:44 PM

Good start of a list Faramir, for like tomax7 I would include official bilingualism. There are many costs here not required under the present Constitution. What about the HR Museum in Winnipeg to nothing of the CHRC, CRTC and CBC. There is also a huge amount of fat which should be trimmed from the Public Service, and one can probably find many more areas.

Torch the HRC and bury it!
Cut the pubicsservice right to the bone and pay them MinimumWage, with no goddam pension!

Get rid of the CBC once and for all.

I sure wish I could find accurate information on foreign aid.

Government support of "the arts" like pornography.
Maybe that disappears with the CBC. Either way...
get rid of it.

I was just thinking....in a way, this thread has become a Christmas list for the Prime Minister.
This is what we want Steve. :)

I'm just grateful to have Mr. Harper around; compared to what the Coalition of the Greedy wanted, he's the best present ever.
