Two and a half cheers for Harper

I have an op ed in today's National Post, looking at the Harper government's plan to cut political subsidies.

I say it's good start, but more needs to be done.

I like your take on this Gerry. And I'm with you, the limits from private citizens should be scrapped. That way people can support their party / cause to whatever degree they "choose" to do so. It might also bring all parties in line with appealing to the things people really want as opposed to what they're "told" they need, and "told" what they will pay for.

Agree Gerry.

How dare Harper tear down anything Jean Chretien put in place without debate or a vote in the HOC.

Problem is it appears the Conservatives have ceded and will not do it. However, all is not lost, the people have seen where the Liberals and the rest of the Opposition stand. All willing to vote down the government and cause all sorts of turmoil for their own political gain.

NONE of them care one whit about anything but their own damned power and the squabbling, divided Liberals, bankrupted in every sense led the way.

Never in memory has there been a party so desperate for power for power's sake as the Liberals. They have the stupidity to think they can govern when they can't even sort out their own mess.
