'Sharia Law Threatens America' billboard goes up
If you're driving along the Detroit-Toledo expressway, you're unlikely to miss the 48 ft. long billboard that reads: Sharia Law Threatens America.
The billboard was erected this week by the United American Committee. The organization's Canadian division -- United Canadian Committee -- has plans to erect a similar billboard in Canada.

Think of it this way: Even the Ontarians figured out that sharia law was a bad idea, and they're reviving racial segregation!

"Sharia Law Threatens America". Ok. So? Is someone (someone with any kind of authority, that is) proposing that the US replace their constitution with Sharia law? If not, why is this worth putting on a billboard anymore than "Attila the Hun's Concept of Government Threatens America"? It does, but so what?
Now, for those who want to wring their hands about how Sharia has been proposed or instituted for use in Canada or the UK, I have only ever heard of that proposed in the context of giving participants the choice to use Sharia or not. As such, that poses no threat at all to those of us who want nothing to do with it, but does give citizens more free choices. And that, after all, is exactly in the spirit of America!

Fact Check gives me an idea for a new billboard:
"LIBERTARIANS THREATEN AMERICA"
They really do, the little scalawags.
Or:
"NINJAS THREATEN AMERICA"
I don't know if ninjas are threatening America, but it sounds like the kind of thing they would do.
Or:
"POLITICIANS THREATEN AMERICA"
Hey, now that's a good one. Someone should put that on a billboard, ASAP.

This does seem a little hysterical, especially as it pertains to a very well armed populace that is openly hostile to the idea of Sharia law.

It doesn't threaten anybody? Only those Muslim women who will be pressured (none t00 subtly) to live within its strictures. Demographics will also play a significant part.

Probably you need to revisit the concept of choice as understood within (parts of) the Muslim community.
