the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place;
and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

But Ontario's school children are taught that the Nazis were the good guys, the Germans innocent victims of Allied cruelty, and that their past is a lie. What good is remembrance if it's tainted with hate? Fortunately Albertans still do it right, because they fought as Allies, not war profiteers in Ontario.

I cannot believe that someone would use this thread to spew his venom at a particular group he is at odds with. I do believe "fucking asshole" adequately describes the poster.
My grandfather, one Horace John Kneller(regimental # 40001), a good and proud Canadian and Ontarian, served under Lt. Col. John McCrae
in the battlefield. He visited Lt. Col McCrae's
home in Guelph ONTARIO every year until his death.
Those who would make light of this day because of petty animosity are undeserving of the sacrifice that not only Lt. Col. John McCrae offered up but all of those that served.
You, Mr. Pike need a good horsewhipping.You are disgusting, in the extreme.

You vent at me but do nothing to stop the CBC from spreading that exact same information. Wow, great priorities there. No wonder Holocaust denial is required reading in Ontario, thanks to your friend, Ontario's favorite son, Ernst Zundel.

We had our own little memorial today at work.
At 11:11 I was priveleged to read the above posted
poem while we all watched this video.
You could have heard a pin drop when the music stopped...this was on a construction site.
I wish we all held those who fought for our freedoms so dearly. And I hope we continue to fight for those same freedoms.
