American Independent Party sues to obtain Obama citizenship proof

225pxalan_keyesIn a press release today, American Independent Party presidential candidate Alan Keyes and senior party officials announced they have filed suit in California Superior Court in Sacramento seeking to stop Secretary of State Debra Bowen from certifying the election results until proof is produced and verified showing that Senator Obama is a “natural born” citizen of the United States, and does not hold citizenship of Indonesia, Kenya or Great Britain.

“I and others are concerned that this issue be properly investigated and decided before Senator Obama takes office,” said Keyes. “Otherwise there will be a serious doubt as to the legitimacy of his tenure. This doubt would also affect the respect people have for the Constitution as the supreme law of the land. I hope the issue can be quickly clarified so that the new President can take office under no shadow of doubt.  This will be good for him and for the nation.”

Keyes is a perennial candidate for public office. He ran for President of the United States in 1996, 2000, and 2008, and was a Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in 1988, 1992, and 2004. Former Western Standard columnist Mark Steyn called Keyes a "magnificently conservative African-American speechifier."

Four years ago George W. Bush and Barack Obama met for the first time shortly after Obama was elected to the US Senate. During that meeting Bush mentioned to Obama that they had both had a similar experience. He said, "We both had to debate Alan Keyes. That guy's a piece of work, isn't he?" Indeed he is.

"Keyes is a perennial candidate for public office."

Sounds like he's also a perrenial pain in the ass.

I tend to regard the whole birth certificate issue as a mirror image of Rathergate. If the new president would just authorize the official release of the document, it would spare us years of conspiracy theories. One way or another.

Be up front, Mr. Obama, or everyone will think you're hiding something anyway. It's a simple request: prove your birth as an American citizen.

To all those lambasting Alan Keyes, I can't help but be reminded that liberal blacks are the cat's meow, but conservative ones are Uncle Toms. Who are the real racists

Come on, an internet image as PROOF? Give me a break. Instead of bringing forward his cert. he gives a motion to dismiss filed by 3 big gun Law Firms. Why not just flash the goods to the court?(see doc here:
http://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/pennsylvania/paedce/2:2008cv04083/281573/12/

It may be because he can't? It IS a big deal if he is not a natural born citizen, and has dual loyalties. We don't need a president who isn't an American through and through. I don't care how cute he is or suave or whatever. It's a job, ok? He will just have to get kicked off if he can't hand over the proof, ok? Nothing personal, it is the country we are talking about.

Watch Obama's step-Grandma in Kenya on video stating Obama was born there. It's on the Salon.com site here:

VoR
Unfortunately the "Messiah" has been ordained by his worshippers. If OJ can get off of a murder charge because of public opinion and the possibility of riots, just imagine what all the people waiting for Obama to fill their tanks and pay their mortgages would do...
We have a pool at work as to just when "the Messiah" will make headlines in much the same way JFK did in 63.

Oh yes, and I suppose it was those time-traveling Obama agents who placed that birth announcement in the paper, too. How clever.

Look, Obama is certainly no messiah, and more than likely will turn out to be a lousy president.

People will listen to sane arguments. People will laugh at insane arguments.

Alan Keyes, with the exception of the Objectivist candidate, was likely to only real conservative running in the 2008 election. My wife would have voted for him if the stakes were not so high with Marxist Obama taking the White House. Alan is the right black man for President (and a real black man - Obama is just as WHITE as he is black for those of you unwilling to think about that). Go get him Alan - whatever it takes to keep Marxists from the White House. Whatever it takes.
