Will the Veep Debate Make a Difference?

Anecdotally, I've noticed two things which suggest that the Vice Presidential debate might be more consequential than normal:

1) A lot of people I know were planning on watching the debate who normally do not bother with such things.
2) A bunch of popular websites, like NRO, have just had their servers slammed tonight so, either a lot of people are rushing on to see what's being said or, alternatively, there's some kind of DOS attack going on.

How about some coverage of the Canadian debate?

I don't think people tuned in to see the debate, they tuned in to see Palin. I think a lot of conservatives tuned into to see if Palin had another Katie Couric style disaster which they know would damage their "side" and liberals tuned in to see her go down if she did.

It's like watching NASCAR for the crashes.
