(Audio) Mark Steyn on Maclean's BC Human Rights Tribunal dismissal
Mark Steyn was on Rob Breakenridge's radio show today talking about the BC Human Rights Tribunal's dismissal of the complaint against Maclean's magazine. Here's the audio [mp3].
Not only does Steyn seem to agree with Andrew Coyne's assesment:
"This ruling only preserves the tribunal from utterly discrediting itself, and as such keeps alive the possibility that some other complainant can drag Maclean’s or any other media organization through yet another travesty half-a-continent away, at great expense of time and money. It also prevents Maclean’s from appealing the tribunal’s decision to an actual court, wherein it might have had the relevant section of the B.C. human rights laws thrown out on constitutional grounds"
But he also added "if Mohamed Elmasry is listening, I'm happy to chip in a thousand bucks towards his appeal."
As someone who was raised Muslim and has studied the faith a little bit in school, I would like to correct one of Mr. Steyn's assertions. Jihad really is all about the muffins.

I wish Macleans had lost.
We need to get a ruling on the constitutionality of the hate speech provisions in the HRCs.

"
Subsequently, former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon argued that due to Palestinian population growth, Israel’s ability to sustain itself over time as a Jewish-majority, democratically governed state will be destroyed unless the Palestinians establish a state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Sharon’s assertion continues to be maintained by Prime Minister Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni today.8 The demographic data on which they base this view was exposed as fraudulent in 2005.9 Yet Israel’s elected leaders continue to insist that unless Israel facilitates the swift establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria, Gaza and sections of Jerusalem, the Palestinian Arab and Israeli Arab population will outstrip Israel’s Jewish population in a matter of years.

As Mark Styne who is also work for Isreali newspaper as journalist and McLain

Jewish or english people can not control all the world while as we look at history start from yesterday to 200 years they loved to taht more bully way to enforced theri ideas to others
west of canada is lower in population can not force Ontario or quebec while they like to
muslim in canda are lower in population still they have voice not always minirity and majority can take all right from rest of peopel in region
in conclusion it does not matter who is majority just because majority may vote liberal and coservative one of the otehrs
still minority and otehr group live in canada and has seat
we have look at fairly as long as other miniroty has seat they have right to participare and their right can be respected
isreali and Palstinain should look at give seat to parlment not watch who has more population to bit each otehr more or less look and follow law and act human and please stop war and battle in middle east enough is enough
mark Styen watch his pen since he has two audience when he write about Muslim if he stay in fact but try to show teh fact to again use advantage of it he could made money more to Muslim buy his book to let jewish or English buy his book if he wrote his next third book who made him more famous over Muslim and Mclean got lots of fame as well they both can mmade money let muslim buy their magazine and book and less worry about majority of Muslim can hold the world becasue miniroty still has right to live and free
Mark styne shoudl be act Islamphobia only of what hhe or politicna in world like to lable Muslims any more and have himself more credit not stock in game of politician over money power not freedom

The BC Human Rights Commission Asserts Its Own Right to Lie
It is ironic to have a so-called Human Rights commission engaging in what amounts to holocaust denial.
In its judgment in the Maclean’s case, the BC Human Rights Commission says that it accepted what it calls the expert evidence of Muslim academics, to the effect that Mark Steyn presented “historical, religious and factual inaccuracies”. However, the judgment then blithely mentions, as if factual, evidence of Dr. Mahmoud Ayoub, of Temple University, with respect to “Indonesia, a Muslim country, and among the world’s most peaceful.”
Between the Indonesian invasion of mostly Roman Catholic East Timor in 1975 and 1979, an estimated 200,000 – a third of the population – died because of war-related starvation and disease or because of massacres and atrocities. Msgr. Martinho da Costa Lopes, then vicar general of the former Portuguese colony, reported, “The soldiers who landed started killing everyone they could find. There were many dead bodies in the streets and all we could see were the soldiers killing, killing, killing." In one of many similar incidents, a group of fifty men, women, and children including Australian freelance reporter Roger East were lined up on a cliff outside of Dili, the capital, and shot, their bodies falling into the sea. Indonesian forces singled out for slaughter most of the twenty thousand ethnic Chinese minority. After a rule of terror, and belated international outrage, Indonesia finally gave up control of East Timor in 1999.
In Indonesia today, all but unrestrained by the government, Islamists have the stated aim of completely eliminating Christianity. Mobs have destroyed over 600 churches and have repeatedly attacked and killed Christians in an orchestrated jihad—that word accepted by the BC Human Rights Commission as primarily meaning inner personal struggle.
Last June Indonesia’s Islamist Council of Ulemas prevailed on the government to restrict severely the activities of the minority Muslim Ahmadiya, and mobs have been burning members of this sect’s mosques and houses. When Indonesia’s population comprises only mainstream Muslims, there may then be what adherents of this so-called religion of peace mean when they speak of peace, an exclusively Islamist state purged, violently, of infidels and heretics.
The BC judgment also states this falsehood as fact: “Today’s violence, perpetrated in the name of Islam, is not based in Islamic tradition or in scripture.” Evidently, the Commissioners failed to inform themselves of the violence perpetrated over the centuries in the tradition of the Islam, such as the slaughter of tens of millions when Muslims invaded the Indian subcontinent, the atrocities in Bulgaria and the Armenian holocaust in Turkey between 1876 and 1922, and the murder of thousands of Hindus in Kashmir since 1990.
As for Islamic scripture, the Commissioners evidently failed to inform themselves of the Koran’s Verses of the Sword, transcribed toward the end of Muhammad’s life and therefore superseding any apparently peaceable verses from the early 620s CE.
