Warming to global warming
Remind me again: Why is a "history-making meltdown" of Arctic ice the "worst ever"? Why not the "best ever" or, at least, a neutral "most ever"?

Kind of strange that unusually cold temperatures last winter would result in such an event. The icebergs in Newfoundland harbours were evidence of lower water temperatures.
An old friend of mine has spent some time in Greenland recently, and he says the ice is receding fairly quickly. This is pretty good news in my opinion. If Greenland becomes green again, we'll be able to plant corn there for biofuels.
Maybe the Beaufort Sea would open up to drilling platforms, and Tuktoyaktuk could open some nice beaches. We could have the next Dubai right on our north coast, only it'd be better because we could have skiing in the winter.

I don't know what the authors are looking at!

The polar ice caps are melting? Quick! Hand over all your money! What, you're from Ontario - well then you don't need to.
Climate change is a scam and a hoax. Resist at all costs.

And this is bad why?
A long season of open water in the north west passage will be a boon for trade.
Warmer weather will help Canada with it's growing season. Save winter fuel oil and gas, kill fewer people in the horrid winter freeze.
I can live with fewer polar bears (or is it penguins, you never know with these idiots) to make these gains.

dp,
Actually, there is skiing in Dubai.

Really? Do they use artificial snow? I'll bet lift tickets aren't cheap.

JC: perfect. Absolutely perfect.
So, basically, if global warming were the strike, the northern and southern parts of the world would be like Florida during the winter. Alaska would be the new Florida.
Canada in particular would profit handsomely - imagine growing crops year round. Bountiful harvests. Think of all the Canadians who'd stay in Canada during the winter rather than head south, and all the Americans and others who would also come. I fail to see how global warming is anything but a good thing.
That is, of course, if it were real. It isn't. It's a scam. So, at the very, very worst, nothing changes. I can live with that.

The great lie is there is a consensus on global warming by the scientific community.
31,000 independent scientists call bullshit!
David Suzuki (the scientist on welfare) and 2500 politically connected "scientists" follow their masters.
There is a consensus, but it is AGAINST global warming. Russian scientists warn of a global catastrophic cooling trend.
