No offence DJ, but China is striving to do just what the west is doing. A cop on every corner, the drug war, total taxation etc. Look inward

Poor Mr. McGuire,

Evidently, he is so fearful of communism that he thinks trading with it strengthens it. Good thing, that most of the world is going to keep trading with it and thus continue weakening its hold over its people. Two interesting articles arguing the opposite of McGuire:

1. www.tomgpalmer.com (August 3rd entry titled "Rights in China"..... "I frequently run into cases in which people attack China for its human rights abuses, but are unaware that, overall, things are much, much, much better than in the past. Violations of rights are serious and China has a long way to go, but it’s worth noting that it’s also come a very, very long way......" Why Mr. McGuire? Why is liberty growing in China? Is your boycott working?

2. The leader in the August 2nd issue of the Economist (www.economist.com) titled: "China's dash for freedom"..."China's rise is a cause for celebration—but despite the Beijing Olympics, not because of them."

Remember, the purpose of this exercise is to help liberty grow in China. Cutting them off, cutting yourself off from enjoying their goods and services can't help...
