What can be done?

A fascinating look into the world of Jihadism from The New York Times of all places.

In summary: this woman, the widow of the murderer of  Ahmed Shah Masood, is one of the most prominent online supporters of al-Qaeda.  She lives off of welfare in Belgium, but has yet to spend a single day in jail in spite of being connected to numerous terrorist plots.

She knows that she has little to fear from the police - and she's right.  And, in any case, as the article points out, if the authorities find a way to put her in prison, she said: “That would be great. They would make me a living martyr.”

She's right.  I don't know what, exactly, a modern court in the West would convict her of and, even if they did, she would be a symbol for the Jihadist movement from prison.  Yet, without any doubt, she's an enemy of our civilization.

So, what can be done about it?  I have a few ideas.  Alas, in this country, voicing them would probably get me dragged before a Human Rights Inquisition.

What can be done?

Let's start by abolishing government welfare. You know what they say about idle hands.

Or just leave her alone and let her garbage loose in the marketplace of ideas. Her celebrity will die down when people stop making a fuss about her, just as Ezra Levant would be nothing more than the former editor of a failed magazine if people didn't make a fuss about the publication of certain cartoons.

Matthew has a good idea. Not as emotionally satisfying as what I had in mind, but a good start to be sure.

If she wasn't born in Belgium, how about deportation?

How many Muslims protested outside of the Western Standard office in Calgary when we published cartoon images of the Muslim prophet Muhammad?

Zero.

Calgary’s Muslims were busy working...building a better life for themselves and their families in a prosperous liberal democracy.

Our office was centrally located in Calgary’s fashionable bar and restaurant district, making it an ideal location for a public demonstration...but nothing ever happened.

I've heard several accounts of Calgary muslims who took time away from their busy lives to cheer maniacally on 9/11/01. Students on the C-train, cab drivers lined up at the airport, and so on. I'll never be able to look at a muslim without some level of mistrust for the rest of my life.

I'm not saying I'll never trust a muslim. I've gotten to know a few since then, and developed good relations. It's just that nagging doubt will always be there.

And a good piece in the "New Yorker":

Actually this woman is well protected under Euro laws. They are only interested in arresting and shutting down anyone who says anything negative about Islam.

Frankly, there are NUMEROUS ways for this woman to be ousted legally. "Welfare bums" who make nio effort to change their status CAN BE and ARE cut-off from benefits. That would be the charitable way to handle this woman.

On the other hand, I am certain there are hundred -nay!- THOUSANDS of European dhimmis who would LOVE the opportunity to work off some of their newly-acquired powerlessness on this person's physical entity. Give it time, my friends. Somebody in Europpe will discover that they STILL HAVE BALLS after all, and the tide just might turn.
