Animal lovers' orgy

Can a chimp be a person? And, if so, what are the consequences? I explore this and more in an op-ed in today's National Post.

UPDATE: I'll be interviewed on this subject at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time Saturday on a legal-issues show on Radio CINQ 102.3 FM. (Cable 88.3, www.radiocentrevile.com) in Montreal.

Terry I read the column and have to say your talent for hitting the nail on the head is being fine tuned. Bang on again. Feel sorry that Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail don't get your protection. They taste so good.

I thought of the saying. "If God didn't want us to eat animals. why did he make them out of meat?"

I recalled the proposed ban on fishing in England a few years back. Something about it harmed or hurt the worms I think.

These people are very scary and you pointed to the absurd to warn us of the probable.

Well done. (Just how I like my steak)

Good Column Terry. With the "State sanctification" of what some of us consider deviant behavior (same-sex marriage) it doesn't seem much of a stretch to envision the eventual Man-Sheep Love Society coming out of the barnyard.

Given that animals in Canada have better access to medical diagnostics than humans, it might result in improved health care at least until Canada socializes/integrates veterinary service.
