Svend Robinson booster and addict turned abstemious Christian musician – it’s a story made for TV.

What’s Svend up to these days? He was an awful statist, but I admired his lone vote in 1987 against legislation that made it illegal to distribute any printed material about marijuana. It’s a dangerous, anti-free speech law -- and he alone understood this.

Did Svendover ever champion free speech when it came to anti-homosexual free speech?

There lies the acid test.

Thanks very much for posting this article.

I don't have any personal knowledge of individuals who have succeded in transitioning out of the homosexual lifestyle and overcoming homosexual mental illness (although it seems uncetain whether or not David McDonald was in fact homosexual). I'm glad to read this account of an individual who struggled and then found help and strength through good offices of religious Faith which I happen to share with him.

The homosexual cliches about how people do act and "should act" and what is normal or not normal (especially chastity as a proper choice and conduct for unmarried human beings) are so terribly damaging and biased toward promiscuity.

The fear of the terrible burden of homosexuality befalling one's child or children, particularly in our present day society which seemingly cares nothing for the innocence of immature personalities, makes it easy to make the terrible mistake of allowing or even encouraging heterosexual encounters to occur in one's children's lives, in order to prevent the possibility of homosexual deviant exposure or abuse. This short sighted action of course brings with it a huge host of other horrible impacts on the child's life (and the Catholic Church has utterly flushed its orthodoxy and guidance for young people down the drain, I can't speak as definitively about other religions).

Our society is really "taxing" the natural human family almost out of existence with its "gay friendly" and "politically correct" failure to enunciate any enduringly good values to children and actually to promote just the opposite (i.e. in the horrible government schools).

Thanks again for sharing this very positive information about a courageous individual (Mr. MacDonald).

Let me get this straight.

He turned queer on the advice of his doctor, who then tried to get jiggy with him? No wonder he chose abstinence. This guys sexuality got bounced around like a pinball.

Maybe a closer look at his career choices can pinpoint his motives. He's a Christian musician now. There's a very high ceiling on that industry right now. The big stars stand to make millions. One thing Christians love more than anything else is a story of someone rising from the ashes of a sinful life.

I'm not saying he's making everything up, but the story sure doesn't hurt his career.

He compared Svend Robinson to Neil Armstrong? As he said, he was 8 years old.
