'The most dangerous candidate'

Hard on the heels of Christopher Hitchens' excellent analysis, in the National Post earlier this week, of the vacuous rhetorical pamblum being served in the U.S. presidential campaign, Lifesite has published a powerful analysis of Barack Obama's vacuous candidacy.

Writer John Jalsevac concludes: "Obama's politics of hope is actually nothing more than a politics of oversimplification. By capitalizing purely on the positive connotations of certain words skillfully pulled from the 'pool of stock expressions', he has firmly driven sober thinking from the political process, and has introduced a politics of emotion at which he excels more than any other candidate.

"For this reason, Obama is the most dangerous candidate seeking the presidency."

It seems to me that whenever we have competent, benevolent leaders, we have people who hope for a better future and who are willing to be lead. The irony is that our freedom is often eroded instead.

Obama is featured on the Cover of this week's Spectator Magazine London UK which points out
"You ain't President of the United States Yet Obama"
Obama known as Little Back Sambo is our offices throughout Canada has been created by his patron Saint Aunt Ophra Winfrey, and is a creature for Pay
Television such as it is -McCain will run against Senator Clinton and be elected President, and Obama
will continue to act as a Democratic Senator,a role
he has still not perfected -Macleod

Jack M said, "Obama known as Little Back Sambo is our offices throughout Canada…"

Jack, do I dare ask what they call Adam and Ezra and Jonah in your offices?

The holy Trinity? Just guessing.

Actually Snowrunner, if a black man is called "Sambo", (and not in the Caribbean-localized OK version of it) I was just wondering what Jack's friends 'affectionately' label a Japanese or Jewish person since the sort seems to run in this order: color, ethnicity, merit.

Snowy

"The holy Trinity? "

While I wouldn't dignify the use of "little black Sambo", I fail to see why disparaging a religious belief through mockery is any better.

Actually, Little Black Sambo was one of my favorite stories when I was a child. It was right up there with The Little Red Engine That Could.
Thanks for bringing back the memory,Jack.

Atric, omething makes me think Jack's friends weren't equating the candidate with Helen Bannerman's pancake-loving hero character. Not when he's also said to be "created by his patron Saint Aunt Ophra Winfrey, and is a creature for Pay Television." But I could be wrong, that's why I was wondering what they thought of a Japanese pundit or a Jewish publisher.

Jack Macleod has just exposed himself and those he works with as racists pukes.

Hey, folks. Let's keep this conversation focused on the subject of Barack Obama and his empty rhetoric. No more empty racial slurs, please.

Obama Alabama ain't gonna be the President of the land of the free and the home of da brave -he hase'nt paid his dues yet -he's got a long way and decades to go.Us and International Media are focused this week on the shallow adventurer and TV Marketing creation purporting to represent the voice of Black Americans -in the words of the great John Wayne: "That'll be the day!" General Powell would have been the ideal Black American Candidate for President, but
I suspect he is and has been a registered Republican for decades. McCain will run against Senator Clinton and win. General Powell got to head up the US Army without graduating for USMA West Point -a truly remarkable adventure. What is Racist about Little Black Sambo except to the looney left?Little Black Sambo was on the reading curriculum of Nova Scotia Public Schools for Generations in a Province which was then and continues to be racist, thanks to years of Liberal Party Governments, where bigotry was and is a standard process - but the Libs can sell the naive lefties anything. It's all about context Jack. Retconning the story and bringing up Nova Scotia policy won't salvage the 11:33 blunder. F**king is a town in Austria too, but the Canada Family Action Coalition isn't protesting the funding of a movie about Young People who live in an Austrian village.

Obama's 'America surrenders' video on Youtube reveals why he speaks only in platitudes now. America is in for an awful battering if that man wins the presidency.

Posted by: philanthropist | 2008-03-06 2:49:16 PM

It seems everyone has forgotten that little black sambo was actually an Indian boy. You have to be up there in years to even remember the original book since it was banned decades ago.

I had a thought this morning about the Obama supporters. I watched an intervue with a black senator who had switched from Clinton to Obama because of pressure to support a black candidate. There seems to be a feeling that blacks who support Clinton are betraying their race. No one seems upset about this. I wasn't, at first.

Let's turn this one around. What if all those white males who support Obama were to put under public pressure to support their race? Forget gender for a minute. What if every white senator who supports Obama is accused of betraying his race? Think the Rodney King riots were bad?

dp,

I believe Oprah and Maya Angelou sat down and briefly discussed the fact that Oprah supports Obama and Maya supports Hillary. It seemed friendly enough and each appeared to respect each other nonetheless so it is possible.

I wonder if Oprah ever sat down with Condi or Colin and respected their decisions with the same graciousness?

I can't believe I just wrote something about Oprah and Maya. Shoot me.

It's OK h2o. You've obviously shown remorse. Who is Maya Angelou?

as an American and U.S.A. voter, what bothers me is that with websites for Hillary Clinton and John McCain and Ron Paul
I can download their "Issues" page and save it on my computer 'desk top'.
When I go to Obama's page and try to download "Issues" my computer tells me that that page CANNOT be saved.
Then when I click the 'Back' button with my mouse,
I cannot go all the way back to where I was before I went to Obama's website, his website blocks me from leaving his website.
That alone tells me he's a snake in the grass and will never get my vote.

"I cannot go all the way back to where I was before I went to Obama's website, his website blocks me from leaving his website."

Cris, I just tried the exact same thing on my computer. A Mac running OSX 10.4.11 with Safari 3.0.4, very plain jane setup, and I was able to:

Go back and forth.
Save his platform PDF.
Save the page as an HTML file, even though I can't think of a reason why...
Print the page as a PDF.

I just emailed you all those files including a screencap of the back button in action in case you think I"m pretending.

So if he were a snake in the grass for doing those things, but it turns out those things aren't true and now it looks like you falsely accused him of those, where does that leave you?

Well. Obama has a friend in our HOC. Jack Layton is appearing on Larry King tonight about the alleged leak about Obama's feelings on NAFTA from Canadian Diplomatic people in Washington.
Perfect show for Jack to appear on. There's no better tabloid than Larry's.

It's getting close to the point where Harper will have to take real action given the Liberals and other Opposition members are still firing allegations on the Cadman tale.

Posted by: Liz J | 2008-03-06 3:40:39 PM

OOPS, it's Lou Dobbs Jack is appearing on. No matter. The main thing is Jack is going to sort things out for us. Get his show on the road.
It's rather sad the lengths the Opposition will take their rhetoric against the Conservatives. It amounts to making a mountain from a mole hill before the full story is know.

ACTUALLY... conversely Cris I see you use framesets which can mess up people's ability to print YOUR website because IE will occasionally only print the document loaded into the browser, which in a frameset-based site is an empty page containing one line of code...

FYI, (I;m bored today, so I will rant here for a minute)

Little Black Sambo (I think that book is banned nowadays since you cannot call a spade a spade anymore) was East Indian not African. If you are old enough to have seen the story book, he was chased around the tree by a tiger. That makes it Indiaa. No tigers in Africa.

Obama is the emperor with no clothes. He is a shibe, a scam, a perfect liberal fog. He says nothing because he has nothing that anyone really and truly wants.

He would no doubt work hard for the American Negro and for the forces of Socialist repression and control. He would raise taxes and raise the cost of living for anyone who works. He is a black Robin Hood. The Muzzies will kick his ass so fast your wife will be in a burka before you can say ali akbar.

If Hillary wants to prezzie, she should consider running as his veep. I expect some trouble loner who loves freedom and prosperity will get up in a tower with a scope before the end of his first term.

However, it is more likely that good sense will prevail and he will not get the brass ring. McCain will hopefully, be the next president and we will all be better off for that.

There is a full blown cold war on right now between the forces of totalitarianism and freedom. The Left is using environmentalism as the tool to try to take down capitalism in tandem with the never-ending Islamic assaults on the west.

I don't give a pass to the thieves in the financial world, they are doing their greedy bit to take down the economy too, but that's another problem that needs to be dealt with.

And finally, China and India will be the next economic and military super powers rising fast through the next fifty years. The Left will look back with remorse when they see how brutal and destructive those powers will be compare that old teddy bear known as the USA. Once they are in charge, the polar bears will be skinned and eaten. Even Al Gore and David Suzuki won't be able to save them then.

"Jack, do I dare ask what they call Adam and Ezra and Jonah in your offices?"

What ever they call them, they should remember that it was racists/race realists like Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Lincoln, Sir John A. MacDonald, Albert Schweizer, Churchill and so many more, who layed the foundation of a superior Western civilization that has spread its largesse around the globe. It was the race realist ‘greatest generation’ who defeated the Nazis. It was the race realist Europeans who brought democracy to Africa, India and Japan.

It is the abandonment of racist beliefs, that brings the USA, Canada, Oz and Europe to the brink of a swamp of self-destruction and self-hatred. Crime and illegitimacy skyrocket, immigration becomes indiscriminate, freedom of association and speech erode, birth rates plummet, and science and art founder.

"Conservatives once defended the importance of conserving America's heritage and cultural traditions, but the rise of "political correctness" has foreshadowed an important point that William McDougall, the pioneering social psychologist, once argued decades ago: "The essential expressions of conservatism are respect for the ancestors, pride in their achievement, and reverence for the traditions which they have handed down; all of which means what is now fashionable to call 'race prejudice' and 'national prejudice,' but may more justly be described as preference for, and belief in the merits of, a man's own tribe, race, or nation, with its peculiar customs and institutions - its ethos, in short. If such preferences, rooted in traditional sentiments, are swept away from a people, its component individuals become cosmopolitans; and a cosmopolitan is a man for whom all such preferences have become mere prejudices, a man in whom the traditional sentiments of his forefathers no longer flourish, a man who floats upon the current of life, the sport of his passions, though he may deceive himself with the fiction that he is guided in all things by reason alone."

DJ,

Excellent point. Once the left has washed all traces of personal, racial or national pride out of us, we will all be as ashamed to be part of the plague on this planet as they feel they are. Talk about the murder of the self-esteem they promote so vigorously to school children without the accompanying achievements. Fortunately human nature is competitive and most kids will overcome this misleading learning.

A little personal, racial, national chauvinism is what a competitive society needs to make the great achievements that make mankind great.

If we are ever to become part of a possible galactic community we must continue to look forward not backward. The Left clearly wants to go back to caves, nuts and berries.

I find that entertaining since they accuse those of us on the right of looking back to the fifties.

Islam is running a world wide Jihad on religious chauvinism and then are doing quite well thank you very much.

When men are men they are often looked upon as being chauvinistic with regards to the fairer sex. I have noted that those more gentile males who went over the the metro sexual side of the street (and women seem to love those oh-so caring specimens) are nothing emotional, vane, shallow women with dicks. I would prefer to be marooned with a John Wayne than a girly man any day.

But I digress.
