Any tampering with the economy will either shift money around, thus picking favourites or it will be inflationary. Voodoo economics indeed. "Its the spending stupid."

Tamper. Tamper. Let's not have another long depression followed by a big war.

It was tampering by the Congress under Hoover, the preceding administrations and by the Roosevelt government that brought on the depression and deepened it. Tamper at our peril.

Wasn’t supply-side economics about corporate and high income tax cuts? A one-time rebate to encourage continued middle class consumption doesn’t sound like voodoo economics to me. Am I missing something?

Stop spending.
Save your money.
Pay down debt.
Invest.
Earn dividends.
Work harder.
Increase your disposable income.
That is how to save yourself, and by default, your economy.
