It's Over - McCain is the GOP Nominee
McCain won Florida. It looks like he's going to win bigger than indicated by polling. Seven or eight points is my guess.
Now comes word that Giuliani will endorse him tomorrow in California.
John McCain is, without a miracle for Romney on a bigger scale than McCain's own comeback (and in a single week) going to be the Republican nominee for President of the United States and, given how well he polls - and how ugly the Democratic race is getting - I'd say that McCain is now the odds-on favourite to be the 44th President of the United States.

Last week on "The Hour" David Frum said that the Republicans' chance of winning the election was extremely slim and then said, "We could very easily see a situation where the Democrats have expanded majorities in both houses of congress and a Democratic President with a real majority."
You need to drink a LOT of Kool-Aid to think McCain is the "odds-on favourite".

McCain is doing what Bob Dole did in 1996 - it was his turn to be the Republican candidate at a time when they couldn't possibly win. Look forward to President Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton come November.

Yeah, they are at what 10% of delegates? It's hardly over yet, though I do believe that the left is pushing McCain pretty hard. Who knows, he could beat Hillary. A lot of independents and Dems who hate her would probably vote for McCain.

Well, I'm pretty sure of it. Indeed, I've got a pretty fair-sized bet on it which I think will be paying off.
There's a flow to these things - a point at which someone becomes pretty much inevitable. I think that McCain, with Giuliani's endorsement, will be past that point.

Well as a bet, you're in the drivers seat, so you may be right. What kind of odds would you give me on Romney? :)

Probably 4:1, at least.
