The Paul/Huckabee switcheroo

It happens. Especially to candidates who, at least a month ago, were considered candidates without hope of winning. "Third tier" candidates. This was prior to a surge in the "official" polls for one, and a surge in finances for the other.

Just now, it is the most emailed and most read article on the National Post's website. Did the mistake have something to do with it? Or are tech-savvy Canadians as interested in Ron Paul as Americans? And why aren't more media responding to market incentives (readers and viewers) by putting Ron Paul on the news more often?

Expecting them to fix the mistake, I quickly got a screen capture:

Huckabeepauloops1_3

And here's what it looks like now:

Yes,Canadian's have a strong interest in Ron Paul, as do a lot of Europeans. It's funny how the mainstream media is the last to know.

Well, then there you go, something else for you all to smile about over this Christmas celebration.

Posted by: prairie dog | 2007-12-23 12:56:11 AM

it's not that the MSM doesn't know. They know very well how big Ron Paul is, and have been working to make sure his campaign would fall apart. But, the man has a message and it's a movement behind the consitution. He may very will win in NH and alot of other states.

Posted by: CK | 2007-12-23 1:33:26 AM

We don't have much money, but we *know* if Dr Paul doesn't get elected, it'd be worthless -- so we spend on his campaign. Think Blimp.

We have the message, the money, and the momentum!

It's not too late to join in! (In the meantime we buy 'Au'.

Posted by: Bob | 2007-12-23 3:57:51 AM

"He may very will win in NH and alot of other states."

And when he doesn't, will his "followers" (AKA cultists) soil their undies?

He is sixth in the polls in N.H. with a lousy 6% - and that's ONLY because the state has such loose voting rules.

It seems anyone can state their intention of moving to N.H. and get registered. That probably accounts for MOST of that 6%.

Oh - one more thing. The pings are going off on computers all over America, so be prepared to hear from these loons all day.

Roo Paul is a cult leader - and his followers are zombies who could just as easily throw their support to Dennis Kucinich or David Duke, as long as someone would "lead" them.

They are lost sheep with no true direction in life. Watch for violence to break out WHEN they lose.

Hey OBC,
Ever notice how very alone you are?
Why do some of the children have to throw sand when the rest are having fun?
Ron Paul is being supported by real people with real money who have real values...not cultists, not socialists, not slaves. Suck it up and get with the program.

Posted by: JC | 2007-12-23 7:19:14 AM

"get with the program."

I refuse to be programmed, thank you very much.

obc please, I mean really. did you even read the whole article? Did you go to the original website it was posted on? have you done anything to validate this claim? Or did you (tell the truth now, you're not lying to us only to yourself) read it on a message board somewhere and decide that it was true?

I think if you look just a little harder, you'll see what a retard you truly are.

Dear Mr. or Ms, or none of the above OBC. I am giving you the same chance the polls give Dr. Paul, NONE of the ABOVE..I have been questioned by polls and Dr. Paul name was not there as a candidate. Others have experienced the same thing. Even POLLINGPOINT an on line poll company does the same thing. So "Scientific" Polls has they have recently been called are actually very unscientific, biases, and incorrect. It is simple we who understand and support, (you notice I did not say follow) Dr. Paul's doctrines are way too intelligent to listen to this sheeple food. But, you and any other neocon sheep are welcome to eat as much as you like. We will not partake.

Challenging Roo Paul cultists is very much like insulting Islam. lol!

OBC> "Roo Paul is a cult leader - and his followers are zombies who could just as easily throw their support to Dennis Kucinich or David Duke, as long as someone would "lead" them."

Quite the contrary Ron Paul supporters are definitely not "sheep". They are leaders that follow their inner constitution even if it bucks the current corrupt system. They are readers, savvy, honest, usually of high IQ people that are totally patriotic of their country... They want to have input in the gov, they are your future leaders in the movement towards reclamation of the republican party... They respect and uphold the Constitution as well as the ignored republican party platform...
I Am A Republican Because

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government only because the system does not allow other party's a vehicle to stress the former beliefs.

Yep true Americans, just like the ones that wrote the Constitution of our rights!

Yeah - the new Roo Paul religion.

Ron Paul is the only fork on the road to globalist slavery. Long live Liberty.

Death to the surveillance state.
Death to phony wars.
Death to laws of control.
Death to socialism and neo-conservatism. (same things)

Now I think I'll hit the rifle range :)
Merry Christmas to all.

Death Death Death Death Death Death

Same as the Islamists have in store for apostates.

Roo Paulists ARE members of a cult religion.

OBC
I haven't seen ALL of your posts, but the ones I have seen are always rabidly negative. You never seem to have any positive suggestions and spend all your time on the attack...do you actually stand for ANYTHING?

Posted by: JC | 2007-12-23 9:01:22 AM

I have been interested in Ron Paul's candidacy since the presidential debates in May. Although as a Canadian citizen I cannot donate money to his campaign, I can donate to grassroots efforts to raise awareness of Ron Paul, and I drove down with a few friends to attend a Ron Paul rally. The message is getting out to the people, and the media have been slow to pick up on the movement.

Posted by: David | 2007-12-23 9:22:45 AM

In regards to that wonderful statement by, Bill White? Was that his name?

If Ron Paul were really a white supremacist, why would other white supremacists want to publicize this fact.

Wouldn't they want to keep quiet about it, with hopes that one of their ilk might make it to the White House? They know that speaking publicly about it would destroy his chances, so they wouldn't do it.

I think that this Bill White farce is proof-positive that someone is trying too hard to discredit Ron.

All these Ron Paul Troofers should give up on their racism conspiracy theory.

Posted by: Brian | 2007-12-23 10:08:38 AM

The idea that RP is a white supremacist is absolutely absurd. Only someone with a stake in the existing system (govt.employee/ tax man)) could come up with such a pile of ludicrous crap.
The basic tenets of freedom, liberty and human nature will not be silenced by the programmed sheep.
And if anyone wants to donate to RP's campaign...find an American friend to do it through. It works.

Posted by: JC | 2007-12-23 10:28:33 AM

So tell us OBC...who SHOULD all of us insane lover's of freedom be backing? All of us millions and millions and millions of liberty lover's who spontaneously joined this "cult" at the same time from all over the world. Who are we supposed to be pulling for? Give us something worth seeing from you for a change. How about some informed intellectual perspective? Tell us why we should be focusing our support on someone else...tell us who and why. Say something positive about somebody for a change...just once!

OBC

The people who post about why they are a supporter of Ron Paul wish to debate with you and show you that you are wrong on so many levels about Ron Paul himself and most of his supporters which are mostly libertarians who are about as far away of being sheep like neo-con supporters or liberals supporters are. To have libertarian ideals means that one thinks for themselves and will only vote for someone who has the same beliefs in honesty, liberty and self reliance that we have. I’ve read Ron Paul’s article for years and know that he is a true libertarian who will do more to advance the cause of liberty in the US and the rest of the world then any other Neo-con Republican candidate who is bankrolled by elites in the US and Europe and are closet fascist who would rather fight the so called “war on terror” instead of the “war on individuals right” that the current republican administration is now engaged in.

While the Ron Paul supporters want to debate with you, all you do is insult and show yourself to be the foolish, uninformed man/women? that you are.

If you are looking for sheep may I suggest that you look in the mirror. You will find a sheep looking back at you who would not know how to think for yourself if you life depended on it.

I see OBC, that rather than being alone as was suggested in a prior post, you have indeed a great following of detractors.
You must be doing something right to garner such
rightous indignation. Keep up the good work!

THANKS, atric!

I do not debate with mind-numbed robots. It is futile.

More Roo Paul inconsistency:

"Paul Defends Asking for Special Projects"

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul on Sunday defended his efforts in Congress to bring home money to his Texas district, despite his long-held aversion to big government and congressional votes to reign in federal spending.

"I've never voted for an earmark in my life," the Texas congressman said under questioning on NBC's "Meet the Press" about reports that he has requested hundreds of millions of dollars for special projects in his home district.

"I do not debate with mind-numbed robots. It is futile."

That's one way out of taking any ownership or resposibility for your words. Truth is you simply CAN'T debate with ANY one about ANYthing. You just don't have the ammunition. I notice you don't tell us who it is you do endorse...which of the fascists is your pick eh?

Posted by: JC | 2007-12-23 2:04:59 PM

"which of the fascists is your pick eh?"

Thanks for supporting my decision not to debate you. That comment proves my point.

Posted by: obc | 2007-12-23 2:42:56 PM

I understand Ron Paul is a conspiracy theorist. He thinks there is more "truth" to 9/11 than what the evidence has told us. There was a video tape somewhere that he was denying 9/11.

Posted by: Muslim Apostate | 2007-12-23 6:08:45 PM

BTW, its funny how my Islamist friends have now all gravitated towards Ron Paul. Now this is guilt by association and an indirect implication for Paul.

But what is there in Ron Paul that makes moderate Islamists who deep inside do not accept the sovereignty of man or the open society, and are thoroughly anti-American to boot, are pro-Hezbollah & Nasrollah, wishing Islamic government throughout the Middle East - find in common with this libertarian?

Posted by: Muslim Apostate | 2007-12-23 6:29:08 PM

obc... In the comments of a different post, you complained that someone had hijacked your nick, and posted stupid statements about Muslims. I'm just wondering if the recent stupid comments on Ron Paul are yours, or one of those dreaded nick hijackers???

Come on... You can't be that stupid as to believe half the crap you copy and pasted.... Do us all a favour and READ the stuff you intend to c/p before hitting the "Submit" button.

. . . another sure sign of cult thinking & activities.

Posted by: obc | 2007-12-23 8:04:29 PM

It's all about money.
It's not about who is best for America.
The news promotes those who favor which is best for corporate interests.
For instance Clinton is being trashed now because the big bucks of the medical companies don't want her.
She will not win. They are smart and are waiting to see if she will self destruct. If not they will hit her hard.
Now the medical neutral candidates, those that will not change the health system much, will get the backing of the defense companies.
Between the two they will come behind their choice as to who they want to win.
America is for sale didn't you know it?
Control of it goes to the highest bidder.

So lets not pretend this is anything other than a auction for the seat of president of the USA.

Now you know the secret of how our government works.

Ron Paul may change that - I hope it happens but this deck is highly stacked against it.

I'm still waiting to hear what obc stands for--or who. Sounds to me like the smart-aleck in the back of the class who just wants to interrupt and insult because it sounds "cool" to be the snipe. So what's your position, obc? What's your opinion, your statement, your...er...belief, if that's not too harsh a word for you? We're all ears...

They have learned to hide their true feelings here because they realize I'll jump all over them for their TRUE beliefs.

They have unmasked themselves here in the past - and I blasted them for it before.
