Raving Leftist Steals iPod, Leaves Note

Maybe it's because I'm tired, but I almost fell out of the chair after reading this story.

In summary, a girl opened her iPod box on Christmas to find a note denouncing "capitalist garbage" and encouraging her, instead, to go and read a book.

What happened to the iPod isn't mentioned but, if I was asked to bet, I would guess that whichever freakish doped-up left-wing "culture jammer" decided that it was good enough for me but not for thee.

People who truly believe in Leftist causes should speak up more against this type of trash. It destroys their reputation and they don't even seem to care. Kind of like the medical marijuana camp--their cause would probably be taken a lot more seriously if its most vocal backers weren't so scruffy-looking.

Shane has a point ... not all leftists are radical fanatics who want us all non-believers dead. Some of them are more moderate, although they rarely speak up for fear of retribution, by the more rapid members of the Left.

Perhaps if we stop offending them and stay out of their face and show more respect for their culture they wouldn't hate us so much.

They should be allowed to have their drugs their even though that only magnifies their horrible fear of climate change and anything that might take money out of social safety net funding.

We must remember that all people on the left teach their children to think like socialist governments right from the cradle. I don't think they can ever be assimilated into mainstream free Western society. So we might be at war with them for a couple of generations.

They may more than their share of sex, but don't have kids. A lot of them are gay and lesbian. They also have a lot of unprotected sex. I would say their demographics work against them.

JW

Holy cow, you sure know how to profile lefties.

Can you name this leftie? Here are some clues.

He was a cheerleader in college. His dad kept him out of Vietnam, and he spent most of his adult life snorting cocaine and drinking himself into a state of perpetual amnesia. He got into politics on his dad's coat tails and a lot of money from big business. He was once seen on National TV holding hands with a cross-dressing prince, tip-toeing through the tulips.

Any guesses?

dp ~

Sounds very much like Al Gore. Look it up, except substitute the allegations of cocaine with the definite daily heavy use of marijuana.

Then again, Bill Clinton also fills the mold - cocaine included - except that he fled to London to escape the Vietnam draft.

All good choices obc. Except Gore actually went to Vietnam, and I think Clinton's tastes were not inclined toward cross-dressing middle age men. Then there's the cheerleading gig. Come on, you're getting warm.

"Except Gore actually went to Vietnam"

You're joking, right? His father - Senator Al Gore, Sr. - sent a bodyguard to accompany him there. He NEVER saw any combat.

That's the same father, btw, who voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Act of 1964, along with most DemoRat senators. If not for the Republican senators, that bill would NOT have passed.

All valid points obc. What I'm trying to suggest is that the lines are sometimes blurred between left and right. Stereotyping as JW did can get you in hot water.

In my opinion GW is no conservative. If he were in Canadian politics, he'd definitely be a liberal. To lump him in with Gore and Clinton is absolutely correct. And throw in T Kennedy while you're at it.

As for the original post, a few years ago we'd have suspected a staunch conservative of stealing the evil high tech toy.

Are you kidding, DP? George W. Bush would be on the furthest acceptable right of the Conservative Party - perhaps moreso, since he (and presumably most Republicans) are against socialized medicine.

Heck, at least half of the Democratic Party would be Tories in Canada.

I am actually wondering why you are still sticking around in dope smoking BC, considering that you don't really seem to have any love for anything that comes out of Canada or that people identify with Canada.

Maybe time to move to the promised land? Just a thought.

I agree that Dubbya is more left than right, but he is right in the ways that matter. One is that he willing to kill Muslims by the thousands. Two is that he doesn't want socialist welfare state programs destroying the American economy. Such as unlimited Medicare, and high taxes. I don't understand his take on the Mexican border unless it is indeed to the benefit of the American economy to have Mexican slave labor in the US. I'll bet that's it.

I also think that he, like his elitist father is a one-worlder, but he likely simply doesn't agree with who will make up that world governing body.

It's a very complex world and we plebes know so little about what is actually going on in the gilded back rooms of those elites.

Here are some prime examples of raving Lefties. Of course, they are all in the US media:

"HOIST BY THEIR OWN PETARD"

For the past 20 years, the Media Research Center has been compiling its list of notable quotables. The quotes, from prominent members of the mainstream news media, provide a clear window into the leftist mindset that pervades most of America's large news organizations. At the end of the year, the center (helped by a panel of judges) chooses the best examples. As usual, this year's crop reveals the media's perennial contempt for all things conservative. Actually, the winners more or less explain themselves. (The full set of winners and finalists can be found at the center's Web site, mrc.org.) Happy New Year!

Dynamic Duo Award for Idolizing Bill and Hillary:

"When I watched [former President Bill Clinton] at Mrs. King's funeral, I just have never seen anything like it . . . There are times when he sounds like Jesus in the temple. I mean, amazing ability to transcend ethnicity - race, we call it, it's really ethnicity - in this country and, and speak to us all in this amazingly primordial way."

- Chris Matthews, MSNBC's "Hardball"

Quote of the Year:

"As violence falls in Iraq, cemetery workers feel the pinch."

- Headline over a McClatchy News Service story by Jay Price and Qasim Zein
