I almost made it to Woodstock.
I started out from Cleveland Ohio on a 69 triumph chopper and my buddy was on a Harley sportster. We got within about 15 miles of Woodstock and the traffic was unreal. We were told we could go in further but would have to abandon our bikes if we wanted to actually get onto the concert grounds.
My buddy went one, but I turned around and headed north to North Bay Ontario to visit family.
I later learned that the event was mostly rained out and was rife with piss, shit and puke since a half million stoned and drunk hippies weren't too fussy about their toilet events.
The sound stage wasn't that good and most of the bands sound like crap since the acoustics weren't very good and completely unbalance to a crowd that size. The equipment wasn't as good as it is now and the concert was set up for a much smaller crowd.
Woodstock is a legendary event, but it was nothing great. Just a huge collective of like minded whackos who to this day are still regarding that as the high point of their lives. No pun intended.
Most of the Woodstock alumni that I know went on to have relatively boring lives, but still cling to their idealistic crap about, like you know it's about like you know man ... the people ... man!
I believe that they were the first generation that made it fashionable to be stupid and proud of it.
Many of those folks are in Socialist parties such as the NDP nowadays. That says something about how where their policies and ideas come from. Also their incredible inability to govern on any occasion that actually get elected.

McCain was good, but not the 'hands-down' winner since some of the other guys did well too.
Interesting format/style of debate, but not as informative as Canadian debates.

Now, that's a keeper!

And let's not forget Hillary's attempt this week to provide $1 million from the American taxpayer to erect a Woodstock museum (in exchange for campaign cash from the museum folks, of course!). She does nothing unless she gets paid for it.

What do you call a woman who doesn't do anything unless she gets paid for it?

John ~
That's a tough one. Let me think.
A bore? A chore? Mrs. Gore? A spore?
Am I getting close?

McCain??? Are you snowing us or what? Aside from the fact McCain is a pansy-assed gun grabbing, statist Liberal wannabe, his speeches are like listening to a droning Grimms fairy tale.
Ron Paul's message of restoring the constitutional republic is cutting through to a bipartisan populist demagraphic disenfranchised by Washington;s heavy handed power politics of the last 2 decades...the Ron Paul revolution is snowballing in its growth...Paul is embarassing the corporate whores who have spread derision and fraudulent polling numbers to stop Paul's momentum...these are the same Gop media whores who are shilling Hillary and McCain and will continue to deny there is a grass roots, nonpartisan movement that has had enough of party political elitism and sell outs, election/poll/opinion rigging and the status quo aristocratic attitudes of Washington politicians.
Frig McCain and the ruling establishment's annointed bumboy candidates...people want their republic back from these kleptocratic statists from both parties ...watch Ron Paul...the only Candidate capable of beating Hillary in a presidential election.
I think it's pretty telling that so much of the GOP spin and media propagandists are pimping Hillary....and Bush openly acts like he's handing her the "crown" of an empire...frikking disgusting.

Ron Paul reminds me of my phys. ed. teacher, spouting nonsense with his eyes where they should not be.

Great line from McCain. Too bad he's an Hispanic-worshipping, amnesty-granting, open-borders fanatic. Maybe the traitor should run for President of Mexico instead.

"Ron Paul reminds me of my phys. ed. teacher, spouting nonsense with his eyes where they should not be."
Well I dunno if you noticed, but the thread was not about your perverted youth...it's about the media making slanted predictions, rigging polls and ommitting candidate info that differs with their presumed out comes.
Personally I don't give a FXXk what you think of Paul...I'm just repeating facts...delude yourself on your own time.

This IS my own time, billy boy. And it doesn't depend on what the meaning of "is" is.
