Global warming caused the arson!

Sen. Harry Reid, the top U.S. Democrat, blames the fires in California on global warming. Last night's CBC's The National said that "a lot of experts" believe it's climate change, though they didn't mention a single such expert. We can take it on faith, as the CBC did.

The California Department of Forestry and the Orange Country Fire Authority say at least one of the fires was arson. But what do those deniers/pawns of Big Oil know?

Still, this inconvenient truth doesn't derail the religious theory that Mother Earth is wreaking vengeance on George Bush's America. The arsonist was probably just trying to raise awareness about global warming.

Actually, the DemoRats get it wrong again, to no one's surprise:

"Arson suspect killed, another arrested"

Los Angeles Times, by Hector Becerra, Maeve Reston

Amid worries of new blazes adding to the firestorm already afflicting the region, a man in Hesperia has been arrested on suspicion of arson, and police reported shooting and killing another arson suspect after chasing him out of scrub behind Cal State San Bernardino. Law enforcement officials said today that they didn't know whether either of the men had started any of the more than a dozen large fires that have devastated Southern California in recent days, including the nearby Lake Arrowhead blaze.

Global warming? Is that still around? I think it will pass like Y2K did - all hype, no threat.

And as bad as this is, local authorities are acting boldly to deal with this emergency - unlike Katrina where Governor Bianco sat on her hands and Mayor Nagin didn't evacuate his city, even with 500 school buses available - until they were immobilized by the flood.

Now that Louisiana has a new Republican governor, the state should fare well in any future disaster.

Ezra, what are you talking about? Reid said "One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming." Note that he said ONE reason, not the only one. Reports also indicate that Reid said "there are many factors that contributed to the disaster".

So while arson cause dsome of the fire to start, the Santa Ana winds are causing the out-of-control spread, and the intensity of the winds is thought by some scientists to be the result of climate change.

Also another report cites Guy Brasseur of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado as explaining how climate change leads to hotter and drier periods which contributes to fire starts and the spread of fire.

No one said that global warming causes arson. Except you. Reid certainly did not, nor has he said that arson is not one of the causes of the current crisis. Nice try, but your lies are transparent, once again.

Funny how these Leftoids qupte scientists who agree with them but ignore those that disagree. Read the comments from the US hurricane director who blasts Globull Warming scare tactics for what they are.

Right Fat Check! That must explain why there were brush fires, forest fires and grass fires throughout North America prior to the arrival of Europeans. Still trying to figure out how there could have been an Ice Age with all the globull warming going on...

I can see some envy crazed lefty deiciding that there is an opportunity to help burn out a few more rich white folks.

Why not strike a blow for the 'people' against the bourgeoisie?

On the other hand, it could be an over-extended mortgage poor sap who wants to collect some insurance and the fire wasn't coming his way.

Whatever it is, the left wing press will find some way to blame it on Bush and the war in Iraq or all the non-believers who have ignored global warming.

We are living is very sick times.

Ezra, it's nice to see you blogging here these days. It raises the level of debate and comment.

The GW fundamentalists are the most in-your-face fanatics. They never miss an opening to shamelessly preach to the masses, only now, the state is totally complicit as the school systems have got the same religion. No separation of church and state with GW. They even have their own saints - Gore, Suzuki, Ehrlich and thousands of wannabes. Their irrational hubris is beyond belief!

It seems unlikely that any amount of good science will bring these zombies back to reality.

It was 22c today here in Calgary and now it's 0c and snowing with about 3/4 of an inch laying on the deck.

I'm really ready for some Global Warming about now.

Mother Nature is the arsonist spurred on by anger over GloBULL warming.

Never mind these various weather phenomena have been going on since recorded time, it used to be called strange weather for the particular time of year, nothing more.

Let's just add to the award winning Gore hoax, blame it on the inhabitants of the Earth, pardon us for breathing.

We in the freezing cold North will welcome a few degrees higher on the thermometer for the next six months.

It never cease to amaze me how all these Leftoids can see so much tunnel at the end of the light.

How much fire damage and forest fires is the result of environmentalists who refuse to allow dead trees and brush to be cleaned out. I think a lot of those wackos are more responsible for these disasters than anything else.
It will take years to undo the damage they have done to our lives.
Some of these organizations should be declared terrorist groups.

MaryT ~

It was reported on FOX NEWS today that one area around Lake Arrowhead that DID clear the forest floor recently suffered single-digit house losses in comparison to a near-by tract that did not clean up its forest surface of dead wood - which lost hundreds of homes.

But I'm sure these facts will not deter the envirowhackos from pursuing their failed policies. After all, this is part of their religion.

"Massive wild fires in Lebanon suspected to be terrorism"

Eioun al-Samak, Lebanon - Fires raged on Wednesday for the second time this month across hectares (acres) of forest in Lebanon, threatening the natural wealth of a country once known as the Switzerland of the Middle East. Interior Minister Hassan Sabaa pointed an accusing finger at unidentified assailants charged of starting the fires.

THIS IS just a coincidence, right?

And there is no need to say "islamic terrorism". Everyone knows terrorism is islamic.

Speller: sorry but global warming is a hoax. What Calgary saw was its own typical weather.

Soon, I pray, global warming will have the same influence as Chicken Little or The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

You mean, Zeb, I'm not going to be able to grow oranges and pineapples in my backyard?
Awwwwwwww. But Al Gore promised.

I hate shovelling snow.

And I hate shoveling Al Gore's excrement. What are you gonna do?

. . . and being rewarded with peanuts, no less!

Speller: I'm afraid so, old friend. His science is just plain wrong. That's what you get for believing the guy who lost to George Bush.

Did Globull Warming cause this theft?

"Six illegal immigrants arrested at Qualcomm Stadium"

San Diego:

Six undocumented Mexican immigrants were arrested today by U.S. Border Patrol agents at Qualcomm Stadium, after a report that they were stealing food and water meant for evacuees, according to spokesman Damon Foreman.

San Diego police responded to a call about alleged theft from the evacuation center and encountered six people in a van who didn't speak English and didn't have California driver's licenses, Foreman said. The police officers called the Border Patrol, who arrived at the stadium and made the arrests, he said. Foreman said the immigrants admitted they were Mexican citizens and that they were stealing.

ARRESTED??? THEY should have been shot on site and on sight as looters would be in any similar disaster zone!!!

Posted by: obc | 2007-10-25 11:45:49 AM

I don't think they should have been arrested either.

I think they should have been drafted to fight the fires.
They don't call a shovel a 'Mexican backhoe' for nothing, and they did come to the U.S. for jobs, right?

Consider the food and water pay in advance.
When the fires are out, ship'um back with tattoos on their foreheads.

Speller ~

And no notice of my:

"should have been shot on site and on sight"

comment? :)

Posted by: obc | 2007-10-25 12:01:19 PM

Yeah, obc, I saw that, but thought it would be a waste of menial labour, plus they already ate and drank.

Posted by: Speller | 2007-10-25 12:04:51 PM

No - I meant the double entendre of "site" & "sight", Speller! :)
