Terrorist Returns to Canada

On continuation of my post on Rwandans implicated in the genocide, is the story of Jamal Akkal. Except in this story, Jamal Akkal didn't have to sneak back into Canada, we let him right back in.

The Gazan born, naturalized Canadian citizen, Jamal Akkal, was convicted four years ago of planning to attack Jewish targets in North America. It is believed that he was working with Hamas to co-ordinate these attacks.

Okay. Why are we letting him back into the country? A convicted terrorist? Oh wait I know, because he's a Canadian. I'm getting a little frustrated with these situations. It's like my post from yesterday, it's the same reason why we aren't getting rid of murderers who sneak into this country. We don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, or offend them. We all need to wise up.

hmmm....a little frustrated

I'm a whole lot frustrated. The eastern politicians have put us into an untenable situation for decades and are continuing to do so.

They have virtually & legally sold the farm (Canada) from under us and things will only change when enough people in the west have had enough.

...Returned to Canada? It has always been with us.

Canada no longer exists. Even hockey now is a hollow, not hallow sport.

Sad.

Right on - Clipper -in particular Chretien and Martin -but I am convinced the real problem is in the Patronage appointed and slovenly Federal bureaucracy and their socialist motivation and training. Have seen it first had for decades and
it particularly nasty when they deal with or refuse
to deal with the State of Israel. PM Harper's most significant and severe administrative and executive
problems are caused the the Public Service of Canada
and their Agenda -friends in Australia who are seeking skilled personnel for their growing aerospace and technology industries have been advised -do not consider Canadian bureaucrats
from Industry Canada, NRC, or certain sectors
of Public Works and GS Canada -OZ does not need these rascals -Macleod

It's business as usual. Terrorist returned to Canada after serving sentence, so he's back to terrorist haven, Canada, apparently he's a legal citizen of this haven so we cannot turn him away.
This is an example of just how damned badly we're served by Trudeau's Charter.

They have to let in rags like this and have to ponder whether to give Conrad Black his citizenship and he was born here of the Heritage this country was built on.

What is the government afraid of, offending terrorists?

Bloody sickening.

They let terrorists in, but disarm the citizenry who will have to defend themselves from these same terrorists one fine day.

Posted by: obc | 2007-09-01 11:54:14 AM

Canada should wise up. These immigrants will not drop their foreign beliefs / ideologies whether they come to Canada or not. Canada is a haven for those who wish to manipulate the system. We will have the pleasure of putting up with more and more and the spiraling expense that comes with it. Stop this immigration now.

LizJ asks: "What is the government afraid of, offending terrorists?"

The gov is afraid of the extreme left who believe the rights to the security of ordinary Canadians can be trumped by foreigners of unknown motives.

And don't forget, the gov is chock full of Trudeau's benefactors.

It's always sad when Canada admits Canadians on to this country's soil.

Posted by: munroe | 2007-09-01 3:13:40 PM

munroe, you are either being purposely obtuse or you are obtuse. This is not your ordinary Canadian, if he is we're in worse trouble than we know. You are part of the problem. Lefty, reason challenged, prig.

Now this is leadership!

"Pentagon ‘three-day blitz’ plan for Iran"
Sarah Baxter, Washington

THE Pentagon has drawn up plans for massive airstrikes against 1,200 targets in Iran, designed to annihilate the Iranians’ military capability in three days, according to a national security expert.

Alexis Debat, director of terrorism and national security at the Nixon Center, said last week that US military planners were not preparing for “pinprick strikes” against Iran’s nuclear facilities. “They’re about taking out the entire Iranian military,” he said.

Debat was speaking at a meeting organised by The National Interest, a conservative foreign policy journal. He told The Sunday Times that the US military had concluded: “Whether you go for pinprick strikes or all-out military action, the reaction from the Iranians will be the same.” It was, he added, a “very legitimate strategic calculus”.

President George Bush intensified the rhetoric against Iran last week, accusing Tehran of putting the Middle East “under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust”. He warned that the US and its allies would confront Iran “before it is too late”.

THEY CAN'T SAY THEY HAVEN'T BEEN WARNED - more than terrorists do before THEY attack innocent people.

Munroe,

Why do you have to disappoint me with these troll-like one-off statements.

I know you don't really believe what you said.

The only explanation I can find is in the spirit realm.

It seems there is an evil spirit overwhelming Canada so that people don't believe in danger.

People are slowly awakening in Québec. I don't know about other parts of Canada.

I think we need something like vigilantes started by voluntaries. Who is willing to start this organization?

Maybe US will find courage to strike Iran although this is not my wish. I truly believe that a comprehensive effort could achieve the removing of the actual dictature.

"Akkal was convicted by an Israeli military court for his alleged involvement with Hamas in a plot to shoot prominent Jewish people in North America."

Taken right from the source(Canada.com). Jumping to conclusions are we to fit your version of the story, Mr. Leah Dowe? Everyone can see that you have an ethnocentric bias toward Muslims. How does that qualify you to write a fair report on this event?

Posted by: Edmontonian | 2007-09-01 10:49:43 PM

Yeah right redmontonian it does not count when Jews are murdered. Get a life! Fact is he is a terrorist and we are stupid to allow such scum in.

The sad thing is that due to the liberal laissez-faire approach to immigration the whole idea of immigration is getting a bad refutation.

Posted by: Alain | 2007-09-01 11:22:17 PM

What Jews have to do with this story? It was the Israeli Police, not the Jewish Police.

Posted by: Edmontonian | 2007-09-01 11:27:35 PM

Question is- did the guy have a dual citizenship? If he does then you know where his loyalties lie. You cannot serve two masters. His Canadian citizenship should be revoked, never to be reinstated and he should be deported forthwith.

Posted by: DML | 2007-09-01 11:31:47 PM

Perhaps Edmontonian feels safe with terrorists running around among us, real Canadians certainly do not.
What Jews have to do with this story is the inbred hatred of Jewish people by Muslims/Islamics.
Edmontonian can try to smudge over that fact but he isn't fooling anyone.

We have to demand this convicted terrorist be dealt with to ensure our safety. If he's a dual, send him back to where he originated. For starters, he's not employable, meaning we will be supporting him and all the little terrorists he can sire.

Shall we start weeping for Canada now?

Posted by: LizJ | 2007-09-02 5:57:27 AM

Perhaps the nation can buy this guy a house next door to munroe or edmontonian?

Posted by: Hoser | 2007-09-02 7:07:00 AM

Yeah, they can get together over beer and maybe a few pork rinds.
How did we ever come to this, sleep walking into a haven for terrorists?

Posted by: LizJ | 2007-09-02 7:16:06 AM

"It was the Israeli Police, not the Jewish Police."

Yeah - Canadian Jews are not protected by the Charter, right, Redmonton? Maybe we have to wait for an attack like the one in Argentina by Iranian operatives on a Jewish Centre in Buenos Aires that killed over 200 innocent people - Jews and non-Jewish Argentinians alike.

Did customs officials check this fellow's "holy" koran when he returned to Canada? Hmmm?

"Holy books used for smuggling narcotics"

My guess is no.

RAWALPINDI: The Customs Collectorate, Rawalpindi, has recovered huge quantity of heroin and hashish, concealed in the Holy Quran and religious books being parcelled to United Kingdom (UK) through International Mail office, Customs sources told The News.

Collector Customs Muhammad Ashraf Khan and Additional Collector Dr Arsalaan, received information that a drug mafia active in Pakistan, was sending huge consignments through mail for a long time, the sources said adding, the authorities constituted a raiding party comprising deputy collector, Naveed Iqbal, superintendent Wasim Ahmad and inspectors Afaan Younas, Muhammad Ismail and Imtiaz Bhatti to conduct raids at International Mail offices in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The team during checking of parcels booked for England, found four parcels suspicious, the sources said and added the Holy Quran and religious books (Tafheem-ul-Quran) as well as garments were packed in the parcels.

During the search, the raiding party recovered 5.5 kilograms of hashish and 710 grams of heroin concealed in the cavities of the Holy Quran and Tafheem-ul-Quran, the sources said.

BUT LET AN INFIDEL mistreat the koran, and riots ensue.

Bias, Edmontonian? I don't think so. When I write I tell it like it is and that was what I was doing with this story. I have nothing against Muslims, I just don't like terrorists, especially when we let them back into this country. Also I have to correct you on my name. It should be Ms. Leah Dowe, not Mr. as I am woman.

Posted by: Leah Dowe | 2007-09-02 9:55:08 AM

Well, it's understandable Edmontonian wouldn't be familiar with all our names, there wouldn't be many with the name Leah where he/she comes from.

It's disingenuous of people to try to imply we're against all Muslims when they know bloody well it's the terrorists in the name of Islam we're against.

We have to wonder just who's side he's on aside from mere argument for argument's sake and trying to brand with the "R" word.

Posted by: LizJ | 2007-09-02 10:22:04 AM

You'd think Princess Leah would have given him a clue as to your gender.

Posted by: obc | 2007-09-02 12:36:40 PM

As for the Gender Misinterpretation I read it as "Lee" when making that previous comment. My apologies, Leah.

I just do not believe the terrorist threat. I hear a lot at WS that we need to get rid of Radical Islam by having a War on Islam(which will never happen anyway as long as people in the Middle East continue to be oppressed by their leaders and Western threats/invasions). If it is gone terrorists will still have Political reasons for attacking. Do we then start a war on Islam Politics?

Posted by: Edmontonian | 2007-09-02 4:49:44 PM

Epsi, I just saw your post. Mine was dead serious. There's a bunch of fools who want to throw a CANADIAN citizen to the wolves because of his background and accept a foreign court's ruling in a disaster area to justify it.

I see this as very sick and to be be honest, very racist. My comment stands.

Posted by: munroe | 2007-09-02 4:59:51 PM

Now, had Israel eradicated this many terrorists, the UN & Leftoids everywhere would condemn her, but Lebanon gets a free pass:

"Lebanese army ousts militants from refugee camp"

CTV.ca News Staff

Lebanon's army has finally taken control of a Palestinian refugee camp where soldiers have battled al Qaeda-inspired militants for months.

The military killed 39 militants and captured at least 20 others trying to break out of the militant stronghold held by members of Fatah Islam.

As news spread that the Nahr el-Bared camp had been reclaimed, celebratory gunfire broke out in nearby villages. Residents broke into the streets waving Lebanese flags and honking their horns.

Posted by: obc | 2007-09-02 5:21:45 PM

Didn't take long for the "R" word to appear.

To say there is not a terrorist threat is so stunningly dense it makes one wonder how a person could possibly have that mindset and know what's going on around the world.

Part of the problem for sure. We should worry even more and be ever vigilant for sympathizers as well.

He's 'Canadian'. Nobody really believes that, especially the terrorist himself.

Posted by: philanthropist | 2007-09-03 12:28:09 AM

Munro, if it was indeed a non-international sanctioned kangaroo court then I cede a point to you!

Epsi

Posted by: epsilon | 2007-09-03 8:36:48 AM

Why do we assume that an Israeli court would be a biased one. I have certainly seen Israeli courts censure, convict and imprison Israeli soldiers. How much of that happens in other middle eastern countries and how far up the ladder does it reach?
