Sutherland the hypocrite

The news wires are abuzz this morning with word that Canadian-connected actor Kiefer Sutherland has been busted in Los Angeles for drunk driving.

Sutherland has been a fount of sanctimonious, over-the-top green guilt about global warming and such stuff, so I was interested in finding out what sort of vehicle he was driving when he was nabbed. A Prius, perhaps?

Nope. Officer Karen Smith of the Los Angeles Police Department has just told me that he was behind the wheel of a 2003 Land Rover, a gas-guzzling SUV.

Tommy Douglas' grandson. What do you expect from a socialist family?

Kiefer Sutherland is Canadian? Sure his parents are, but he was born in the UK and spent almost all of his professional life in California. Oh well - the Canadian dream truly is to become an American.

...gas-guzzling SUV and a booze-guzzling actor, what's the difference?

tomax7 ~

In the morning, the vehicle will be sober.

Granddaddy would have the vapors!

His Momma is high on the Socialist agenda too, she's on the stump on the Public Health care file any time she feels it's threatened by the dreaded two-tier.

Whatever, Kiefer isn't practicing what he preaches, same as the Blowbag Albert Gore.

The only thing we should care about is the irresponsible act of driving drunk, hope he gets nailed hard on it.

Anyone want to bet that Kiefer pays for Mom's medical visits in LA?

In fact, I don't know what his actual citizenship status is. Canadian parents, for sure. And IMDB.com bio has him living for many years in Canada, when he was a youth, so he's probably got some sort of citizenship status. But, because of your note, I've amended my posting to read "Canadian-connected..." Thanks.

It's fair to conclude that Kiefer is a dual Canadian-British citizen with a US visa.
