Bush, Hero in a Muslim Nation
The BBC reports on President Bush's visit to Albania , where he was greeted with "a hero's welcome":
The Albanian capital, Tirana, celebrated Mr Bush's visit, although he spent just seven hours in the city before flying to Bulgaria.
Tirana's streets had been cleaned, US flags were draped over buildings and a commemorative set of stamps had been issued for the occasion.
Even The New York Times reported on how pro-US Albania is, despite their best efforts to find dissent, it seems.
. . . After the visit on Sunday, some people expect to see a rash of babies named George.
So eager is the country to accommodate Mr. Bush that Parliament unanimously approved a bill last month allowing “American forces to engage in any kind of operation, including the use of force, in order to provide security for the president.” One newspaper, reporting on the effusive mood, published a headline that read, “Please Occupy Us!” . . .
Albanians’ support for the war in Iraq is nearly unanimous, and any perceived failings of American foreign policy are studiously ignored. A two-day effort to find anyone of prominence who might offer some criticism of the United States turned up just one name, and that person was out of the country.

Albania loves Bush way not he wants to take 15 % of Serbia and hand it to Albania

And the parts Bush and the UN want to hand over to the al-Quaida warriors are the very parts which contain the ancient churches.
That is, those ones the Muzzies haven't destroyed yet.

. . . like all the synagogues that Jordan destroyed in 1948 after Israel's War of Independence. It's the Muslim way - complain about any damage to mosques, but then destroy the holy sites of all other religions.
By the way, no Jews live in Jordan anymore. If anyone sells a Jordanian house to a Jew today, the penalty is death, whereas Arabs live in Israel, vote, have their own MPs, passports and schools.
Now tell me - which nation practices apartheid today?

I do not disagree with Florida although I believe this happened during Clinton's time.
In any case Albania must be the first and only Muslim country with a sense of gratitude. How many times have the Americans and other non Muslim countries come to the aid of Muslims only to be treated like scum afterwards?

You can bet the farm the CBC would have found an anti-Bush Albanian and her/him as the lead story on The National.

Unlike Alain I disagree with Florida becouse can you tell me please how can you think that Kosovo is part of Serbia with over 90% Albanian population?
Other thing is that if you want to have a better opinion about this, you should get better informed about formation of Yugoslavian state after World war II and Titos(Yugoslavian president)policy during that period.

"how can you think that Kosovo is part of Serbia with over 90% Albanian population?"
Some people will tell you that most of that 90% were "illegal" immigrants from Albania during the days when both Yugo. & Albania were Commie run.
Sort of like the same idiots who will tell you that the return of so many Jews to their homeland is illegal too. The fact that Israel has NEVER lacked a substantial Jewish population since its founding by Joshua (see the Bible - unless you don't own one which would explain a lot in and of itself) - that in 1865, 64% of Jerusalem's population was Jewish - well, let's not confuse the anti-Semites with the facts.

Somehow I dimly recall that Albania (and Yeman) were Communist CHINESE satelites, and quite separate from Russian Communist vassal states, and much more virulent terrorist Communists for thirty, forty, fifty years back.
Admittedly, I'm quite ignorant of the situation, but I never supported President Clinton's seemingly amazingly one-sided "alliance" with "The Kosavars" (an utterly miserable "culture"), and his too clever by half insinuation of armed Muslims as "helpers" of America's military actions in Yugoslavia.
I wanted to see us just seal off the borders of Yugoslavia so that not even air could enter that "country" and let them fight it out for themselves.
How's that for "enlightened" American (hey, each one of us gets to act like we own the place) foreign policy?
If President Bush is being "praised" by anyone for anything it is undoubtedly a "clever" deal where he is caving in to or being paid off by the absolute wrong side (e.g. EMPLOYERS of illegal aliens who are the actual beneficiaries of Bush-Kennedy's AMNESTY absolution of actual historical and continuing crimes).

Wow, all Bush had to do was travel to Albania to be respected. Maybe he should just stay there until his term is up.
Things don't look too good for him at home and he's not welcome here.

President Bush is also a hero among the people of Iran inside the country. He is well-liked there!

Ah, I forgot to add Georgia where he got the same reception

President Bush is also welcome in Alberta.

Clinton sucked up to Albania because they were a safe haven for the bin Laden-led jihadists who the US used as proxy warriors in Afghanistan against the Soviet Union.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many non-Albanian jihadists settled down in Albania, where they continued to agitate against the local Serbian population.
The NATO generals sent as observers after the illegal action against Serbia (NATO's charter, in fact, spells out the alliance's raison d'etre was to protect against attacks on its member states).
Since there was no such attack by Serbia on any NATO member, it is at the very least an illegal act, if not outright criminal act by the US against a sovereign state which, in fact, fought on the Allied side during WWII.
Albania and for that matter, Croatia, fought alongside the Axis powers.
It's all in the history books, if anybody would care to investigate.
In this case, Bush is legitimizing an illegal act of former US president Clinton by ceding Serbian land to a populace which includes jihadist veterans of Afghanistan.

Thanks for the history lesson-research. I had hoped to gain insights such as yours regarding the true context within which to place Bush's newfound "popularity and success" via this blog.

Reviewing my post, I did leave out a story the NATO observers relayed from about two years ago. The story moved on the news wires, but did not get much play in the MSM.
There's apparently a river which separated the Serbian and Albanian/jihadist populations.
One day, a couple of boys went down to the river for a swim. Only one returned, since the other one drowned.
The surviving boy told his mother, who warned him not to swim in the river, that they were chased into the river by Serbian dogs.
The news spread like wildfire through the Muslim community, who then went on a violent rampage against the Serbian population and either burned down to damanged 34 Orthodox Churches.
When the NATO representatives questioned the boy about the story in front of his parents, he admitted he lied about being chased into the river by dogs because he did now want to get in trouble with his mother.
It's a tragic, yet typical story from that part of the world.

That shoud be, burned down or damaged 34 churches.
And, it is a true story.
Posted by: set you free | 2007-06-12 10:08:18 AM
And, of course, the other question those rampaging lunatics did not ask the boy ....
How did you know the dogs were Serbian?
Posted by: set you free | 2007-06-12 10:10:18 AM
The fact remains Serbians fought alongside the Allied side during WWII the entire way, without being coerced one way or the other by the major armies that came through their territory.
Now, they are being asked to cede land to proxy warriors of the US in Afghanistan, the very same jihadist al-Quaeda movement they are now battling in various middle eastern theatres.
Hang on. That's not forceful enough.
First, they were demonzied by an illegal action of NATO, who started bombing Serbia, even though Serbia had never attacked a member nation of NATO ... as per the charter.
Now, they are being asked to give up an ancient homeland which many of them fled due to the guerilla actions of the al-Quaida jihadists.
There something not quite right with this picture.
Any problems with any of those facts?

I'm a bit late in the day for this observation to be considered "clever" but do I recall correctly that it was equally hard to find a single person in another Muslim country who had anything negative to say about Sadaam when he was racking up those 99.9% of the popular vote election wins?
Do you think such things dawn on President Bush, or is he only as smart as he sounds?
Posted by: Conrad-USA | 2007-06-12 5:16:03 PM
After reading all the comments, I'm convinced that there's a lot of idiots that roam this country.
Too bad people like Patrick, Conrad-USA, set you free, and the rest of the Serb-loving dipshits weren't aborted as fetuses by their parents.
Get over it you retards, Kosovo will be independent.
Fucking douchebags, go back to wacking off to Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly.

Hmmm, actually I think DJ is some kinda basement dwelling KKK type white supremacist loser with a
VERY limited intellect and vocabulary (obviously). Actually we should encourage him 'cause he's probably one of the more amusing fruitcakes that post here. C'mon DJ....spew some more; it always good for a laff.

He also sounds like a high school dropout whose life is not where he wants it to be - and can't understand why that is.

Drive everyone out from Kosovo that lived there previosly, move in only Albanian muslims that way it makes Kosovo a Muslim country that deserves to be independent right?
Lets all just pray they don't try the same trick in say London or New York.
Clinton bowing to an Al-Qaeda monument just summed that guy up completely, should i ever get the chance his goolies would really cause him pain as i thanked him for creating an islamic state in Europe with a quick knee in his crutch.
Taking attention away from his weaknesses for this Serbia paid a terrible price.
