Do you think this blunder by Gates will make it more difficult for the Americans to deal with Tehran or do you think it will be inconsequential?

Brent,
It will make it more difficult, but I'm guessing Gates, sadly, doesn't realize it.
What really scares me is that Gates et al are trying to lay the groundwork for accepting Iran as a nuclear power. It may be part of the Grand Bargain: you let us leave Iraq without knocking it over, we let you keep your nukes.
I hope I'm wrong; I fear I'm right.

I suggest Gates is too old to take this post. He should be in a retiree home.
this way, it's like he is being Chamberlain in 1936. Thank you Mr. Gates to prepare millions of deaths.
