My MLAs support me, Calvert says

"Premier Lorne Calvert has emerged from a cabinet retreat to say he will lead the New Democrats into the next Saskatchewan election.

...

Calvert wouldn't comment on the specifics of his conversation with Yates, but said Tuesday he's confident he has the support of his MLAs."

And we here on the right in Saskatchewan, couldn't be happier...

Sask must get rid of the dippers or they will never get themselves out of the drought they have been in for so many years of wild eyed, spastic, trough slopping, poverty producing, stoopid beaucratic government by left wing junkies with their collective heads in the bank accounts of the stalwart producers still in Sask. Culvert is a 'lesser Liberano' he is a PMPM 'wanna be' and I will cheering from the sidelines for his defeat - a resounding defeat - you will enjoy some fresh spring air in Sask if that entire 'hill' of dippers leaves the Leg. I don't believe they have washed that trough with one good idea in the last 10 years. Rotton spuds smell pretty bad.

I e-mailed Yates and nicely suggested he might consider sitting as an independent or even crossing the floor. Anything to cause trouble for the Dippers. This province is moribund and should the Dippers get re-elected next year, you may as well order the tombstone!

Calvert is a little weasel and will do anything/say anythig to try to cling to power. No doubt he will call an election at the last possible moment, and use taxpayers dollars to buy votes (again).
Yates must be one of the few Calvertistas with some brains and a conscience.

A couple of questions for those closer to the situation:

1. When is the next election expected to take happen?

2. How likely (and if so, by how many seats) is it that the Sask party will win? An please be as cold-hearted a handicapper as possible - lots of potential investors in this province (Alberta) want to know.

My guess, and its only a guess is that the next provincial election will likely be held in fall on '07.

No idea what the seat count may be... a day is a lifetime in politics....
