"North Korea confronted the U.S. in an effort to please Beijing."
That's the viewpoint of one analyst regarding the Stalinist North Korea's Projectile Dysfunction; the latest hypothesis on Communist China's encouragement of SNK's threats against Japan is also a must read (third and second items, respectively).

I think that communists will be sorry if they get Japan to rearm. Japanese are fierce fighters. They invaded part of China, Korea, defeated the Russian fleet in the past.
China should be aware that a combination of Japan with India might crash their regime.
I visited Japan a few years ago. Those people are strong willed and well organized. USA defeated Japan only because of their larger economy. Just ask veterans the kind of fighting they had to sustain against Japanese soldiers.

Interesting theory, but doesn't the Chinese dictatorship have enough problems right now?
They're having difficulty brutalizing ordinary Chinese people into submission these days, it's hard to imagine they're also smacking their poodle in North Korea to create more problems.

What is clear that North Korea, as a puppet regime of communist Chine, would never be allowed to act in anyway that is not approved by its master.

BB,
Raging hate doesn't sound more sensible in CAPS, but rather less so.
