...without sounding like a leftist...is the memorial only about RCMP's?

What about the various city, OPP, Quebec cops also?

Which ceremony stirs the emotions more, the PM laying a wreath on a (single) national monument (for all) "law enforcement" people, or the Mayor of Quebec or the Toronto Police Chief, or the Girl Scout Honoree of Calgary, et al, laying a wreath at the Quebec Police, or Toronto Police, or Calgary Police Memorials, respectively?

If the PM does it, it's on TV, the TV News. If the Mayor or the Girl Scout does it, then the local residents can be there, including the kids from the schools (except in those rare precincts where the school teachers are Leftists busily teaching the words to the "Nationale" or whatever the Communists sing at Democrat Party headquarters).

The lack of actual heros, and actual Honor as oppossed to the gazillion phony "honors" showered upon every undeserving pathetic media "celebrity" every hour of the day, is certainly one of the crumbling pillars of free society.

Go to your local School Board meeting and ask that the children be taken on a field trip to the local (closest) Memorial to their school and have somebody of actual local importance give a speech which explains why in the Hell the people of your town built the damned thing in the first place. Screw the "national" "recognition" of anything, it is the local hopeless "education" which makes your nation free and prosperous or Socialist, Atheist, Abortionist and dead.

These guys were real heroes.

What really got my into my craw was how the Libs used soldier's deaths to make political statements about the US.

In Edmonton, there was a memorial to the fallen soldiers in Afghanistan who had been killed by friendly fire from the US pilot (who can remember his name?).

Yet, those a**holes who formerly were allowed to run our country thanks to Ontario's voters would not have given a second through to honouring a soldier who died while fighting jihadists.

It pissed me off back then and, as you may be able to guess, I'm still pissed off about how cynically the soldiers' lives were used.

Eventually I am going to learn that by introducing bad language into a discussion or debate, it destroys the potential value of the contribution. Again, I apologize for my stupidity.
