Hugo Chavez threatens bloggers
All you left-wing anti-American, Marxist romantics out to save the world while wistfully dreaming of an uncapitalist utopia will probably skip over this bit of news. Doesn’t fit the symbolic agenda. The Venezuelan dictator and general everyday communist prick, Hugo Chavez is threatening blogs:
Venezuela’s dictator has issued his first threat against bloggers. The threat his supporters ran in Ultimas Noticias today identifies them as ‘The Anglo-Venezuelan Connection’, presumably because they write in English. Miguel’s blog has been named in this threat. He says they should probably have a tough time shutting him down, given that the blog itself is hosted in the U.S., but that doesn’t halt our worries for him. Dictators everywhere have been moving against bloggers. There is nothing in the brutal Chavez regime that has shown itself to be in any way particularly benevolent or tolerant. This bears watching with great concern
Piss on Chavez and all the commie bastards helping him spread his propaganda all over Canada. More at the Devil’s Excrement (Miguel’s Blog).

A true glimpse of the left wing paradise in the making.
People will start disappearing down there before long.
These little creepy characters all over South and Central America have their countries on a morbid tape loop that keeps playing over and over.
They start to get a whiff of freedom and then they corrupt and stupid themselve out of it. Then here comes another strong man of the people to rule by Fiat.
Nice culture ... let's import that one too.

What is amusing in a macabre way is that they are seeking asylum in the US in record numbers

Lets send all our white bitches down there, too. After listening to the bunch of "chicks with dicks" rail against men and western society in our "universities", I suggest we troop the bunch of them down there to be raped, exploited and brutalized by Chavez and his thugs.
Really, I've said it before, I'll say it again: white females are the cancer and contaminant eroding western civilization. If these creatures were as enthusiastic about defending the best parts of western culture as they are about killing their children and/or attacking male students in a public school classroom, they'd be a powerful force for good. But, of course, children rarely fight back whereas creeps like Chavez and the Islamofascists raping Scandinavian women in large numbers as I write this tend to make people disappear - permanently.
Typical, slimy and cowardly.

Now I know why the price of gas just spiked.
I am so tired.
Why is it that the Cold War supposedly ended about 15 years ago, yet guys like this act as though the USSR is still backing them?
Who is going to keep this clown supplied if a hot war develops?

Yes the price of gas just went up, when the price of oil has dropped from about $65 to $61 over the last week or so...makes no sense to me. As for Chavez...I was making negative comments about him a couple months ago, and was severely criticized by someone on the Shotgun...can't remember who was sticking up for him... :(

Ah yes, it's only those leftists who try to shut down blogs. Certainly not the conservative administration of George Bush, which has run exercises on how to shut down blogs. But I'm sure we can trust them to only shut down lefty blogs, right?

You are no Diff,
I quess you haven't been on the Net or blogging long enough to have read on numerous occasions that some blogs are run by terrorists.
Posted by: Speller | 2006-03-10 8:38:20 AM
So wait - you people flip out at Muslims attacking 'western values' but 'bk's comments:
"white females are the cancer and contaminant eroding western civilization."
I said it before and I'll say it again - this blog is the favourite meeting place for Canada's own Taliban.
"Certainly not the conservative administration of George Bush, which has run exercises on how to shut down blogs"
Nice try 'We are no different' but anyone who hasn't yet caught on to the MULTITUDE of hypocracies in the Bush Administration (ie. Speller and the gang) will NEVER smarten up. I don't think they'd get it until Bush took a missle, lubed it up and shoved it up their asses (though I think even then many of the regular posters here would say they deserved it and ask for seconds).

I don't have any gang. Never did.
I stopped posting for nearly three months(a fiscal quarter) during a federal election cycle, nobody notices I'm gone or asks, "Where's Speller?"
I'm back barely a week and I'm the leader of a 'gang' or at least the prime example of some monolithic point of view?
If I had my way, bk's comment would be beneath the decency standards for posting on the Shotgun, but I'm just another ONE of many SINGLE self-opinionated commentors.
I thought bk's comment was beneath repudiation and fell into scrollover territory since the Shotgun is such an open forum.
I guess Justin views it with more credibility.

I'll respond to bk: I'm a white female, I can't stand Chavez and your racism and sexism is stupid.
I'm assuming you are a white male like some of those dictators throughout history...what does that say about you, using your own idiotic logic?
Justin: you don't take your own posts as representative of WS Thought, so why use bk's in that manner?
rabble babble, the most appropriately-named and easiest place to get a laugh on the web, had a thread entitled "Jon Stewart calls Chavez a Dictator!?!?"
Most commentators shut Stewart down as just another one of "those" americans, a traitor to the left and dismissed any evidence of Chavez's affronts to freedom presented by the few semi-rational lefties as mere right-wing propoganda. I'm sure various socialists' heads exploded upon hearing Stewart's remarks.

Justin,
I would be far more concerned about what Bill Clinton was lubing to stick up your ass, but on second thought, you would probably enjoy that, and I'm sure you would ask for seconds.

Latin American freedom fighter, Brazilian thinker and journalist Olavo de Carvalho is one courageous fellow. He writes some excellent stuff at:

Give him a read.

I no longer respond to people like bk, Justin and Justin rules.
There are two schools of thought here. The first is "If no one challenges them, their position are considered to be the position of everyone here." That's not true but if someone wants to spend time responding to them, well it's a free country, knock yourself out.
I prefer the second school of thought, which is "If there's no audience, there just ain't no show." Ignore them and they'll go away.
Speller, take heart, I noticed you were gone. Welcome back, I missed you, etc. :-)

"but on second thought, you would probably enjoy that, and I'm sure you would ask for seconds."
deepblue, very original. Lemme guess - you're a writer?
AS for Angela, characterizing "racism and sexism" as stupid will buy you no friends here at the Shotdumb. As evidence, I cite the NUMEROUS times I've been responded to whereas people with attitudes like bk's have been given silent approval.
Saying "white females are the cancer and contaminant eroding western civilization" should have been FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY with a CLEAR message to bk that violently sexist attitudes like his will not be tolerated. It wasn't - I had to mention it for it to happen.
'nuff said.

Are you kidding me with this?! I live in a country where our president threatened to bomb the media... bomb, not bitch about it. So Chavez has a list of one or two blogs? Ha! We have volumes of pages on people we deem offensive. Chavez a dictator? Get real.... he ain't got nothing on us. If he does want to crack down journalistic freedom, tell him to come up to the United States where he can get schooled by George Bush in the art of "handling the media."
