On Mary Walsh, you presumed right

The quotes below (with the absolute slightest paraphrasing from memory) were given by Mary Walsh (from 22 minutes), appearing on CBC:NW's The Hour just now:

"I'd vote for Hamas!" ... "If I was Palestinian, I'd want my property back too."

"I hoped the Harper lunatics would win because it'd be good for political satire, but I hoped the Liberals would win because it'd be good for the country."

The second quote, fine, whatever; she works for the CBC, we're not surprised.  But the quotes regarding Hamas?  Unbelievable.  In the segment she talks about kissing Harper, and that "even though he's very cold, he's just a person."  Mary Walsh, I will personally promise to buy every season of your lame show on DVD (should it make it that far) if you go up and try the same routine on a Hamas leader.

See the whole parade of ignorance again tonight at roughly 11:30PM on CBC:NW.  Oh and take a gander at the latest nonsense Walsh is plugging, after all you're helping to pay for it.

Just another reason to disband the CBC, as if more were needed (i.e. Trudeau miniseries, Valor and the Horror, 9/11 townhall, general waste of time and money that could be better used elsewhere).

If I were Harper, it would be the first thing I'd do after I was sworn in. Just turn around and bark an order to an aide: "THE CBC DIES NOW!!!"

Should we pour $1billion/year into promoting a largely rightwing agenda? If not, then we shouldn't pour into the leftwing agenda either, to be fair.

Disband the CBJihad and or make it have to cover hockey games from coast to coast, from pro to pickup.

I wouldn't even give it hockey. If it wants it, it would have to compete for it. The CBC needs to be pulled away from the public tit, let out into the world and learn some good old fashioned darwinism. I'd give it a month. And then go throw peanuts at Rick Mercer at Second City for 411.50 and our plus meals.

obviously, i meant $11.50 an hour plus meals. No, I do not work at CBC.

Yup, first to go, Strombopolous, then the rest of the Commie lefty appeasers/traitors.

If Mary Walsh said "I don't blame those Israelis for putting up a wall -- I wouldn't want my kids blown up either!" do you think the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation would put it on air?

The truth be told, Mary Walsh couldn't survive anywhere else but in Central Canada. She's not funny, insightful or talented and we are a poorer nation for having people like that on TV.

But then again, we've got Beverly McLachlin and Rosalie Abella on the Supreme Court, so Cdns. should be plenty used to untalented, irresponsible and occasionally obscene white women in high-profile positions.

The trash that these parasites are using our money to produce?

The CBC can be handed its own head by simply cutting the budget.
Easy!
Stephen Harper....please do this for me!

bk, if Mary Walsh hit her head on the corner of a coffee table and miraculously work up unaware of politics, and class warfare, she'd actually be funnier. As it is, she just pisses us off.

Godspeed, Mary Walsh.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes once did a sketch about CBC's anti-Israel bias. It was a ham-handed interview of an Israeli and a Palestinian with the Israeli being constantly cut off.

It wasn't terribly amusing but I felt you could also tell the actors hearts were not in it.

(I generally didn't watch the show but just happened on this sketch one night. They may have done better material on the subject.)

CBC...complete waste of taxpayers money...it can't be disbanded soon enough for me. Liberal propaganda machine...spewing same old crap...I wouldn't give that dumbass Mary Walsh 5 seconds of my time...and I am sure as hell pissed about supporting that non-talent as long as we have.

I don't know Mary Walsh and maybe it's a good thing for me. I had the cable removed a few years ago because I was tired of TV.

In Montréal, it is quite bad with Radio-Canada. I just remember the reportage they did on Gitmo. Their bias was so obvious that it was disgsting.

I kind of view Radio-Canada as a tool to be used by all kinds of people even terrorists. About the Kadhr family, they were kind of supporting them.

In general, they are always showing the moonbat and homosexuality point of view.

With all the medias available, I don't see the point of maintaining Radio-Canada.

Is it just me, or are the same people who complain about lack of social funding (housing, medicare, education, etc.) the exact same people who defend the CBC? Priorities, people!!!

Mr. Harper, tear down this CBC!

Posted by: Scott | 2006-02-02 11:45:17 AM

Yup. my favourite part would be watching all the "talent" scramble for jobs in the private sector.

Posted by: Stopthetrain | 2006-02-02 12:07:27 PM

Hey good idea! We can make a reality show out of it.

"Survivor: Toronto" - 16 CBC employees are fired and stranded in downtown Toronto. With only their job skills to depend on, they will have to survive in the most hostile environment imagineable: real life.

or

"CBC Idol" - 12 CBC employees are judged on their ability to plead and beg to save their jobs. Simon Cowell can judge, but the real winners are the Canadian people.

(To be honest, I disconnected my cable 2 years ago and haven't watch any of these shows, so I'm basing this on Wikipedia.)

Isn't 22 minutes acutally a show produced in the Maritimes, by a private company? The CBC just carries the show, don't they? Wouldn't that mean that the views expressed in the show do not represent the views of CBC bla bla bla.....you know the rest....

Posted by: beancounter | 2006-02-02 5:25:24 PM

Leave it to Mary Walsh to insult every Israeli and there families who have been killed or maimed by a despicable group of blood-thirsty murders.

As for her craptacular career, she hasn’t really been funny for the last few years, neither has 22 minutes.

On Mary Walsh and her politics.
Damned good thing for her she lives in Canada!
