Multiculturalism in Eurabia

This is a fascinating interview with Dalil Boubakeur, France's most influential Muslim leader:

"There is no formula for co-existence between Islam and Europe," says Mr Boubakeur. "All idyllic, unrealistic visions of laissez-faire permissiveness are no good. All overly authoritarian visions are no good either. Islam in the west is a real political problem."

The UK, in particular, has made a "serious error" in "encouraging and accepting" multiculturalism. "The London bombings last year were a brutal wake-up call," he claims.

"We must separate religion from politics at the level of the state. But with a true secularity, not a hypocritical secularity."

Until religion is truly "a private affair" and Muslims are not subjected to discrimination in much of society, divisions will remain. "To break down the suspicion between the two societies, we need true incentives in business, employment and education, to give true equal opportunities."

Again, h/t Tim Blair

For someone claiming (wisely) that religion should be an entirely private affair to be also involved with a legal challenge against a Newspaper that published the Danish cartoons, the inconsistency shows too much political compromise. It is somewhat encouraging but he needs to set a better example for his followers.

We have equal opportunities (OK not a 100%, but who's perfect?) in North America. We don't have equal outcomes in NA and we don't expect equal outcomes , that's why we advocate competition.

But he has a point in France. The French do discriminate against immigrants from their colonies who aren't "pure laine".

However, instead of putting the onus on the West to provide "incentives" he should be saying "to break down the suspicion, Moderate Islam needs to differentiate itself from the radicals".

This sounds like Muslims would dearly love to have the same status in Canada (or anywhere else) as Native Indians have.

Special funding, special opportunities, special juducial considerations etc. Just like Indians except a lot more dangerous and smarter.

Just like the story of the frog who is duped into carrying the scorpion on it's back across the pond ... he get stung while doing the favor. Why? Because it's in the nature of the scorpion to do so.

Best solution ... no more muslim immigration into the West and toss out those who won't accept our culture and way of life. (like Australia has started to do)

Will Canada acquiesce and roll over for the Muzzies? I would think yes ... because it's in it's nature to do so. ... Canada ... dumb like a frog!

Duke, my eyes!!! We can't use that example!

Oh my gosh, talk about insulting a specific distink, err distinct culture!

You should be more sensitive to our national values...

Uh, wait, forgot what...oh yeah, standing up for visibile minorities.

Wait when do I rank as a visible minority - as in being a white anglo-saxion? Sometimes while in Vancouver and parts of Toronto I wonder...

But hey, that's thinking like a bigot.

Dang.

The Muslim group, Hizb, said to be operating in 40 countries, with a proclaimed goal of jihad against America, states on its website that it hopes to bring the Islamic nation “to her rightful place as the first state in the world, as she was in the past, when she governs the world according to the laws of Islam."

A pamphlet on the Hizb website, ”The Campaign to Suppress Islam," spells it all out, and cites Qur'anic verses in support of its "arguments". According to this pamphlet, there can be no compromise between Islam and Western thought. Islam MUST oppose everything the West stands for: Democracy, Pluralism, Human Rights, Freedom of Belief, Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Ownership, Personal Freedom, and Free Market Policies. Anyone who does not oppose these things, is a Kaffir, or "unbeliever".

Here is an example from the text itself: "For Muslims to adopt democracy means to disbelieve all - may Allah forbid ..."

And with respect to religious freedom: "The rule regarding the Muslim who becomes apostate is to require his repentance. If he insists on his disbelief, the capital punishment is applied on him because the Prophet said, (and here the Qur'an is quoted):

'Whoever changes his deen, kill him.'

Irreconcilable differences.

For him to advocate total (enforced?) secularism, is for him to ask us to prepare the way for Islam. Its so much easier in a secular vacumn.

Christianity is a living faith. You don't live it, you aren't. Nothing private about it. You might as well ask people to breathe privately. I am sure he is aware of this. He is asking western society to accomplish what Islam has been unable to forever. He has good reason to hope for the best. Western societies have been trying to erase and re-write their Christian culture for decades.

I don't know Boubakeur but I would not trust him. Did he ever speak against terrorism or suicide bombings?

I think he behaves like syrup. Fluid and hypocritical and pseudo intellectual. But I wish I could be a small bird and hear what he is saying in private to his colleagues. We already know, because he reads and preaches the Koran.

Come on people, some nazis at the time of the third reich were having nice talks with the medias. One of them even convinced Stalin that he would never invade Russia!

The British made a serious error, and so have Canadians - in inviting so many Muslims to live within our borders. Now that Muslims and Islam have completely revealed their lack of tolerance and sophistication it behooves modern societies to discourage the settlement of more Muslims and encourage the re-patriation of Muslims that live in modern societies to places where they would be more comfortable, like Iran. Iranian leaders could protect the tender sensibilities of Muslims by censoring the outside world's harsh realities, such as reason and enlightened debate.

You`ve got to hand it to the ' muzzies ' as Duke calls them . It was perfect timing . Just as technology has reached a zenith , just as birth rates are declining due to demographics and economics , just as the banking system is poised for a crash due to unrestained credit and larceny ,just as nuclear weapons are becoming widespread, the muzzies move in like the proverbial filthy cockroaches after a nuclear holocaust using their primitive clean - up tactics . The philosophy is tear every thing up , render it to a pasty nothingness and start afresh using the sacred building blocks as outlined in their primitive tome , the Quran. Their paradise on earth - the stoneage.
