Armenian Protest in Ottawa

This morning dozens of Armenians, accompanied by many police, were on Albert St. in Ottawa with a big float with a figure on top, protesting the destruction of their historic cultural sites by the Azerbaijanis.  They were protesting outside of the building housing Ottawa's UNESCO office, and then began to move their protest off to the Azerbaijani embassy.

Comments

Sedition is a deprecated term of law to refer to non-overt conduct such as speech and organization that is deemed by the legal authority as tending toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often included subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws.

WTF is Daveh talking about?

The Armenians are being attacked by the Azerbaijanis, who are probably motivated by Islamofascism. Nothing new, unfortunately.

It's always been a tough neighbourhood, and the Armenians always survive: but at least we can give them moral support!

It is unfortunate that Armenians have to protest the recent Azerbaijani destruction of ancient Old Julfa cemetery in Nakhichevan (currently part of the Republic of Azerbaijan). The whole world should have protested the unbelievable destruction, which was taped at the Azerbaijani-Iranian border. A video from the destruction is available at www.julfa.cjb.net and many photos are available at http://www.armenica.org/history/old-jougha/index.html.

The cemetery dated to the 8th century and had over 10,000 unique head stones (beautifully carved) by 2000. Now, all these monuments are gone and Azerbaijan DENIES its destructive policy.

How foolish of me to not allow them to be rabble rousing in the streets of Ottawa. And of course so much will be accomplished by another minority parading around and putting the cops on high alert. I suppose the Mexicans will be the next group , because Bush has actually threatened to slow the avalanche into the States to a stampede. And maybe those poor put upon Moslems in the Netherlands can request that their brothers in Ottawa hold a special rally for them as well. Yes how intolerant I have become .

Daveh: not only intolerant, also dumb.

Put on your turban and join them , I`m sick of their protesting . If you shout wolf too often , you won`t get a response , even if you do deserve it.

It was a very peaceful protest
