Quote of the campaign

Senator Hugh Segal on Scott Brison: "If you put a mirror on his desk, he’d never go to lunch."

The quote is from a Halifax Herald story suggesting that Kings-Hants is close,  with Bob Mullan having a chance to win it from the turncoat. (The paper also says that the Tories could win West Nova.) Among the 12 election predictions I make at my Sobering Thoughts, is that the Tories regain both these seats.

What will little Scott do if he loses. He has been the royal ass wiper to the king paul so loyaly and done everything the crooked king has asked. Hopfully he will find a new job maybe in the medical industry, putting the cotton in the asprin bottle. With any luck he will return to the bathhouse he crawled out of

That cab-driving experience might come in handy ...

Cab driver??? Let him do some real work, like pulling a rickshaw. I hear that Paul may be losing the chauffeur and limousine soon.

Maybe . . .

Ah, yes. One is happy at the prospect of an incoming CPC government. Locker-room humour will be back in vogue and it will be expected that you belittle anyone different from yourself.

Oh, come on now!

The quote of the campaign is obviously Jack Layton's briliiant skewering of Paul Martin's scare tactics with his "Martin has nothing left to say to Canadians other than to tell them that unless they vote Liberal, the sun will not rise, spring will not come, and volcanoes will destroy the earth."

I mean, really, it's downright poetic!
