It needs to be said

I hope all the bloggers are too busy with friends and family to post today, and all the readers too busy doing the same to read. But since I'm in Waikiki, and not particularly busy at all, I'll offer this up to readers and bloggers alike:

Merry Christmas.

"Merry Christmas"?

Coming from Waikiki, that's kind of like a "screw you", is it not?

What a thing to say at Christmas...

Here is a poem by the great Charles Simic.

NOTE

A rat came on stage
During the performance
Of the school Christmas play.
Mary let out a scream
And dropped the infant
On Joseph's foot.
The three Magi remained
Frozen
In their colorful robes.
You could hear a pin drop
As the rat surveyed the manger
Momentarily
Before proceeding to the wings
Where someone hit him,
In earnest,
Once, and then twice more,
With a heavy object.

Coward!! What kind of Canadian are you? Turning your back on your birthright of frostbite and your heritage of chillblains and dry skin?

Merry Christmas
JM in Trinidad.

P.S. What are chillblains, anyway?

Merry Christmas!

Down here in Cayman, we are missing our Canadian Christmas weather (snow, sleet etc..) but since we live here year round, and only Canadians pay their teachers enough to travel, Merry Christmas from where its a pleasureable 80F. with a breeze.

United States is a great county.Without the USA their would be no Canada. The USA is Canada's biggest business partner and military protector.[Kevin Libin, although The Western Standard magazine is a plus for Canada-a comic Fed-Liberal strip would be entertaining]. Have fun, fun, fun while the Federal-Liberals all bath at Liberal MP Scott Reid's home, than afterwards still are dirty politicians.

Scott the beep beep beep etc Brison 4. Belinda stronach.[the women that saved our country from ourselves, even if it was for only a few months, .]who will do anything to either be at the top ...stay on top ..know the people at the top ..or give the boot to who-ever won't let her have the top. my vote has to go to belinda ..You deserve the top of my list!
