It's too late to save Canada, RG, but have a great New Year anyway!

Agreed - The Canada that once was is no more, nor is it likely to be.
We have the Liberals being exposed for what they have been for decades, thanks to the information explosion. How much more of new/heretofore unreported exposures of graft/greed/power/corruption/cover-ups can we handle in the next three weeks?????
We have Conservatives - who it seems have gained enough support in Western Canada to quietly usher in Bill S-3 and in so doing, basically selling out the 70% of Anglophones/Allophones in Canada who are not fluent in French. It would seem much in the vein of seeking power/furthering self-ambition with the cementing of total enforced bilingualism across Canada being the "cost of doing business".
I wonder if I'm one of a very few people in Western/Eastern Canada who feel that it is not the divine right of the 30% fluently bilingual people in Canada - whether they be Conservatives, Liberals, NDP, or whomover (in alphabetic order) - who are "entitled" to rule Canada in perpetuity.
One thing for sure - it will be New Year. The Happy part is bound to be totally subjective and in the eye of the individual. Only time will tell.
