so the message being... kill gays and eat them?
stoopid.
Posted by: teddy | 2005-11-04 3:37:04 PM
Nope. The message is you should not compare animals with humans.
Posted by: Rémi houle | 2005-11-04 4:30:27 PM
So i guess the message is that it doesn't matter if animals can be gay because animals are not importants nor smart. while humans cannot be gays because we are important and intelligent..
nice....

ha ha ha...it's a joke you sad sacks...it doesn't have to have some deep meaning...

For a community that has called for the murder of Alexandre Trudeau I'm not surprised that the Shotgunners are called for dead gay dogs...
Hey Erza Levant - image the comic said "We had a bull who was Jewish" - "we cooked him and ate him." Please keep this comic in mind next time your railing against anti-semetic sentiment and looking for sympathy.
I wouldn't be shocked to see this comic on a neo-nazi site. There were gays and lesbians that died in ovens in nazi death camps. Yes I realize he said a 'bull' but replace 'gay' with 'black' or 'jewish' and now defend it.

I mean "calling for dead gay bulls"
Posted by: Justin | 2005-11-04 6:12:35 PM
Gee. You can tell Justin doesn't know anything about farming.
What should one do with a gay bull besides eat it? At least a Jewish or black bull can still be put out to stud. A gay bull—if one existed—would be useless for the purpose intended. What's the farmer supposed to do? Put him up in an apartment on Church Street?
I'm not intimidated by your attempts to equate this comic strip with neo-Nazism. Call the human, er, bovine rights commission if you must. I'm prepared to go to the mat on this. I'll come right out and say it: Kill and eat all the gay bulls!! Who's with me?

Thank you Kevin. That's the funniest thing I've read in days.
Gay bulls - they're what's for dinner.

Most beef is steer meat. All grade Canada Grade A is slaughtered before 1 year old. The cows are kept for breeding. Only prize breeding bulls live longer than 1 year.
Most breeding is by artificial insemination.

AWM is expressing his deep hatred for homosexuality using anthropomorphism. While many of you are displaying zoomorphism in your "four-legged" displays of intelligence.
Actually no - that's too much of an insult to animals.
Posted by: Justin | 2005-11-05 11:26:27 AM
Hey Justin, you look like stretch armstrong with all that reaching you're doing.
Posted by: Andrew | 2005-11-05 12:15:48 PM
And Justin, dear, you are displaying your absolute lack of a sense of humor. If conservatives offend you so deeply, why come around here? Clearly you're not here to find common ground but to antagonize. Anyone who's spent five minutes in an agricultural setting can understand this cartoon, whether they like it or not.
Hmmm, perhaps we should find a term, like "urban alienation", for city folk who find western/agri people scary and threatening . . .
Posted by: Meg Q | 2005-11-05 12:17:57 PM
Hey Justin...2 gays walk into a bar, which is really dumb, because you'd think the 2nd gay would have seen it, after the first gay walked into it ! Drum roll please....
Posted by: MarkAlta | 2005-11-05 12:18:43 PM
Oh, Mark, now I fear he's going to be *very* cross . . . 'course, that's an "Aggie" joke back in Texas!

I honestly come here looking for something to challenge my 'lefty' assumptions but apart from very few exceptions I just find a lot of willful ignorance and tons of intolerance.
I don't have much patience for labels but around here people are obsessed with them - obsessed with labelling others and labelling themselves. It's called tribalism and it's ugly.
Anyway Meg Q I come from a family of farmers so I'm quite familiar with agri prople - course they farm in Ontario so you westerns would probably hate them (it's your kneejerk reaction). They are very smart people and though we disagree on some issues I respect their 'live and let live' approach to things.
Now people who post lies or hate on the 'net - well that's a different thing entirely and I do find those people scary and threatening.
Posted by: Justin | 2005-11-05 1:14:03 PM
Justin, did you family farm hydroponic lettuce? I'm not a westerner and I can't stand people from Ontario. That is why I came to UVic. It may be the left coast but atleast it's not the center of the universe. Toronto is the center of the universe and has therefore attracted all things stupid with it's gravity.
Posted by: Andrew | 2005-11-05 11:19:17 PM
Thank you Andrew for proving the point about tribalism.
Speaking of Gay Bulls, have you heard of the fella who was caught kissing another boy so his father took him and with his brothers and they beat them and branded them? The boys were 13. True story - it's not just one of your daydreams.
Posted by: Justin | 2005-11-06 10:04:10 AM
branded them, now I see how that has something to do with gay bulls...
Posted by: MarkAlta | 2005-11-06 1:56:55 PM
Hey, here's another "neo-Nazi" website promoting the genocide of gay bulls:

People, people. Hasn't it become obvious that, as a gay activist, Justin needs to be in a forum in which he feels repressed and discriminated against? Well, this is his forum (too bad for us) and social justice commentary on cartoons is his medium (strangely appropriate.)
Posted by: Ham | 2005-11-07 12:24:02 PM
I feel repressed and discriminated against here as an intelligent human being.
Posted by: Justin | 2005-11-08 8:52:39 AM
intelligent ?...don't flatter yourself.
