Cruise in the news
The Toronto Star spoofs our Caribbean Cruise (free registration required). My only objection is that they called me middle-aged.

This is a compliment. If we stick to our knitting, in ten years the Star and CBC will not find the Western Standard so funny . . .

You're not middle aged. I believe the proper word would be 'distinguished' ;)

Interesting isn’t it how, even in a ‘light-hearted’ spoof, a Star writer’s Marxist sentiments inevitably bubble to the surface.
Race baiting: “10 middle-aged, conservative-minded white guys..” “their blindingly white legs on display for all to see.”
Envy and class war: “you have consumed, in a day, enough salmon, prime rib and cheesecake to fill a life raft”
Anti-capitalist paranoia: “there won't be anyone knocking on my cabin door early in the morning asking if I want to have my driveway resurfaced.”
For nothing other than comic relief, Ezra and company ought to give Mr. Barclay an all-expenses-paid invitation to join the cruise. A fringe benefit could be more free publicity in his Star columns.

Thanks for pointing out the article.
Thought it was amusing....Hey JR lighten up!
You really think that a few sidways jabs like that hurt anyone? Maybe you need a cruise!
