A BRIEF INTRO:

My name is Sean McCormick and I’m the creator of Angry White Males, the Web comic. The comic features conversations between fictional characters living in rural Alberta. If you want to know more about the characters and the strip, go to these addresses:

http://www.angrywhitemales.ca/about/
http://www.angrywhitemales.ca/cast/

Some of the conversations are made up, and some were actually overheard in local coffee shops and then ‘borrowed’ for the strip. The strip isn’t really to the left or to the right, but more a reflection of what I’m seeing out where I live (an acreage 3 hours drive straight east of Red Deer and within spitting distance of the Sask border for those who must know).

As for myself, I’m a professional photographer (www.digiteyesed.com) and writer who does a bit of PC repair on the side to keep the bills paid. I used to be a white-collar urban dweller, but I left the big salary and the fancy home behind for life out in cattle country. I like it better it out here living amongst the farmers. Farmers really are God’s chosen people, although you wouldn’t always know that by how He treats them.

Many thanks to Ezra for the invite to post my little comic strip here. I promise to try and behave. I will apologize in advance for not paying as much attention to comment threads as I should, but I’ve got a family to support so paying work takes precedence. I will do my best to respond to questions thrown my way.

Best,

Sean M.

And welcome aboard, Sean. We're thrilled to have you on the Shotgun. You just gave me my first laugh of the day.

Which big city were you from Sean, and what was you job there?

I moved from Edmonton out to Kirriemuir AB this past July. I've worked as a computer systems administrator for the last decade. The last two years were spent developing and running knowledge sharing infrastructure for 4000 employees of a multi-national staffing firm. It paid well, but I didn't enjoy it.

When I was laid off back in May, my wife and I decided we would move out to her parents' farm and take a shot at doing something we love for a living instead. It may work out and it may not, but at least we won't grow old with regrets because we didn't try.

Alfonso Gagliano launches political comeback - Italian style

ALEXANDER PANETTA Wed Oct 12, 5:21 PM ET

OTTAWA (CP) - Alfonso Gagliano is launching a political comeback of sorts, but this time he has his sights set on Italy.

The controversial former federal cabinet minister says he couldn't resist an offer to become an official organizer in Canada for one of Italy's top political parties. Italy is allowing its expatriate citizens around the world to vote - and run - in an election expected next April.

Gagliano's new role comes after a scandal-plagued fall from grace that saw him tumble from the upper echelons of the Liberal government to the political wilderness.

Despite all that, he still has the political bug>>>

No Justin, they aren't scatch n' sniff comics. If you think that they stink then you'd better clean your monitor. It's probably covered in your spit from when you rage and yell at it every time you get your ass handed back to you in your hat in these comment threads. It must be frustrating for you to be so wrong so often, but that's no reason to be so full of hate towards those with differing opinions.
