SDA Status

Ordinarily, I wouldn't post a status report on my own site (smalldeadanimals.com) here, but I've been told the local radio station is receiving calls from people wondering what's happened to it, (complete with Librano conspiracy theories).

There was major network disruption over the US last night, and this has resulted in connection problems. Hosting Matters hosts a lot of blog sites (including Instapundit) and there may be other blogs experiencing problems. They're working on things, apparently.

The amusing part of this, is that it happened to coincide with a call from Chris Bennett on the cannibis culture forums to bring down my site through excessive bandwidth use and the accompanying rate hikes... they're pretty upset that I drew attention to Marc Emery's "Nazi-Jew" diatribes against Irwin Cotler.

SDA sustained 80,000 hits a day during the Brault testimony, and I believe my hosting fees for that month spiked by a total of $4 US.

Kate's site is still down! I need my fix. Somebody please do something. Any good techs out there to help out? If this has anything to do with Emery I'm going to make him drink bong water. G-d I hate hippies.

They're slowly tracking down the problem or so their updates say. Initially, it hit their entire system taking down a number of the top blogs in the US. It's getting narrowed down, slowly, and others are coming on line.

I still don't know when our server will be up.

Thanx for the update.

Sometimes these glitches can be a blessing in disguise. Can't hurt to take a brief forced break from something and return to it refreshed and eager. Perhaps Kate will benefit from time off, as it's richly deserved.

Myself, it has given me the opportunity to continue to construct a future blogsite in my head and look at the options for blog serving sites. Each day I think about it I become more motivated...

Chris Bennett thinks he can bring down a blogsite? What is he, a cyberterrorist?

These left-wing extremists make me laugh sometimes. Petty mischief to advance their "cause"? Pity them.

I'm so glad you had the foresight to use a US host....out of reach of the PC gestapo. Megabytes ahead of the maple gulag Kate ;-)

They're currently migrating some of the sites on that server to another, so access to SDA is still questionable today. It was up for a little while this morning, but back down again as they continue to work.

Hmm... a US host and a Euro email server... worthy of consideration if one is a conservative citizen looking into starting an anti-leftism blog in this country. If one goes Cdn, one risks confiscation by the Libmob of one's intellectual property and worse, one must assume.
