Revolutionary advice

Trumbulls_doiOn July 4 1776, delegates from thirteen American colonies approved the Declaration of Independence in Independence Hall, Philadelphia. John Hancock, President of the Second Continental Congress, warned the delegates, "There must be no pulling different ways: we must all hang together.

Benjamin Franklin, Philadelphia's newpaper editor-publisher and legendary wit, is said to have added,
"We must indeed all hang together, or most assuredly we will all hang separately."

Well if you're must learn about revolutions, learn from the people who did it best: the USA.

Unlike other revolutions, like the French, Russians or Chinese, the American Revolution did not collapse on itself. 239 years after declaring independence, the country not only still exists but thrives under its original constitution. Those 13 colonies in rebellion laid the foundation for the country we know and love today.

The same principles used to declare independence have inspired people far and wide to seek freedom, even the slaves owned by the same people who signed the Declaration of Independence.

Some criticise the US for doing too much, but the positive impact they have had on the world has been enormous. They helped win two world wars, fight and win a cold war, and now fight a war against terrorism. Their economy is the cornerstone of the world, feeding, clothing and sheltering billions. Their culture entertains us, and their way of life is the one most sought after (ask Iranians).

To my American brothers and sisters, I bid you a happy 4th of July. You have much to celebrate - freedom, liberty, justice and harmony. The empty negativity of a few malcontents (more like never-to-be contents) cannot take away what you have worked for. This world is better off with America.

Independace Day has a special ring to it and I celebrate with Americans and other freedom loving people like Scott. The American People took it upon themselves to claim their own country and to write their own rules. They fought against "taxation without representation" and fueled the fires of freedom for all people. The American people have earned the pride they feel on July 4th. The people of the thirteen colonies could have just kept paying the rich people in England and kow- towing to a king and his courtiers who taxed and controled. The rebels knew these elitiests and decieded to kick them out. Courage, Fortitude, Justice, Freedom. God Bless America for making these words mean something in reality.

Left liberals death wish; committing suicide; their hatred of President Bush, their own country, Western civilization, driving them into an alliance with the Islamic jihad. They wish to lead all of us to nihilism and death.

The G8 summit in Edinburgh is going to be the site of a monumental lunatic circus, featuring groups such as the Wombles, Dissent, the Black Bloc, and the anarchist People’s Golfing Association. An intriguing mix of Marxism, random violence, and golf.

Here’s a story about protesters on their way to Edinburgh, in which a 29-year old teacher from Washington DC expresses her support for head-hacking holy warriors: Revolution begins on Platform 18. (Hat tip: Pete.)

Virginia Rodino, 29, a teacher from Washington DC, said that she had travelled from the US for the opportunity to protest. “My demand is for the G8 leaders to leave Scotland,” she said. “These are secret meetings, they are not even formalised, and there is no public participation. They should allow the people to make the decisions that are affecting their lives.”

Asked about the significance of her T-shirt, which bore the message “Insurgent”, she said: “It means I’m in solidarity with the courageous Iraqi resistance.”

Traitors in the White House with FDR: Hiss; what an ugly name; a snake hisses; Alger Hiss. A snake has a bifurcated tongue; Hiss, with a snake's tongue; Hiss, the darling of the left liberals.

Editor's note: The following commentary is excerpted from Jack Cashill's eye-opening new book, "Hoodwinked: How Intellectual Hucksters Have Hijacked American Culture," where he shows how, over the last century, "progressive" writers and producers have been using falsehood and fraud as their primary weapons in their attack on America."I am not and have never been a member of the Communist Party," Alger Hiss said under oath on Aug. 5, 1948, and calmly refuted the accusation of former Soviet agent Whittaker Chambers. The House Un-American Activities Committee had subpoenaed Chambers two days before. Then a senior editor at Time magazine, Chambers had..
