Blogging CPAC

In January, I listed the bloggers who were accredited to cover CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference ). James Joyner has several posts on events as they unfolded, including an incident where Al Franken was "apoplectic" over discovering he was to guest on Michael Medvid's show with Swift Boat leader John O'Neill. Lots of links to video, etc.

Meanwhile, Mr. Dithers, responding to his newly acquired monicker, has finally made up his mind about a matter of real international consequence.

Why he has finally made that decision appears to be purely due to minimzing the near-term political consequences of not doing so, of course.

It's obvious why he's doing this: to solidify support for the gay marriage issue. He needs the support of the NDP and Bloc to pass it.

From Mark Steyn's Feb 28 WS column: "M. Chrétien was still running the numbers in Quebec, and figuring out whether to be a 43 per cent ally or a 26 per cent ally".

Substitute "Martin" or "Harper" for "Chrétien" and the statement still works - except it seems we've now settled on being a one per cent ally. Pathetic!
