We asked for it
Another Liberal MP has some enlightened views on why there is terrorism in the world:
Because of the Americans.
Yasmin Ratansi, Canada's first female Muslim MP says that U.S. foreign policy is what creates terrorists (and not, say, the visceral hatred propagated by Islam's religious leaders). Of course, its not that she doesn't like America. She would say the same thing about "any imperialistic power that tries to influence another country and creates chaos in that country."
Minus the recent exception of Iraq, however, Canada has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the US on most foreign interventions, including Afghanistan, Bosnia, and the first Gulf War. So, I guess that when that long overdue attack on Canadian soil finally happens, Ratansi will be able to say that we had it coming.

Terrorists always have an excuse for killing civilians. In Spain on March 11, they claimed it was because of Spain's participation in the Iraq war. We have since found out, however, that Al Qaida had been planning those attacks long before Spain pitched in to fight terrorism in Iraq.
Jean Chretien tried to tell us America was attacked on September 11 because of the economic disparity between western and third-world countries. That theory didn't hold up too long, however, when you realize that most of the hijackers on that day were well-educated, middle-class professionals. This is simply Chretien's excuse to blame the U.S. and promote international socialism at the same time.

How to play the Muslim Leader Drinking Game:
When they say: "All Israelis are legitimate targets", take a drink.
When they say: "Jews are dogs and pigs", take a drink.
When they say: "America asked for it," take a drink.
And when they say: "I was misquoted/My remarks were taken out of context/I was just quoting somebody else/The media is using this to smear us"--drink the whole bottle.

Gee, I am not surprised this bit of bigotry comes from there. Racism is pandemic in Toronto - against Albertans, Jews, Americans and anyone else who does not fit the Ontario Liberal mold.
Let's hope terrorists strike Toronto like they did Madrid - a few hundred dead or wounded rich people would be a nice wake-up for them.

GREAT idea! Nothing annoys an Ontarian more than preventing their trade from crossing the border.
If they can't have their caviar and Dom Perignon from their US suppliers, then life isn't worth living.
Here's my timeline:
1-3 Days = "We'll survive"
4-7 Days = "We don't need you"
7-14 Days = "For the love of God, think of the children".
That border is Ontario's Achille's heel, and our blessing. So long as they make huge profits off US trade, they'll leave Alberta alone.

Scott - I haven't been to Toronto in a while, but when I did last visit, most of the people lived in pretty small apartments and led pretty schleppy lives, due to the high cost of real estate, the long commutes, and the all-round rat race aspect of the place. You look at statistics for pre-tax income and conclude that they're "rich" and they deserve to die. Have a heart. Their disposable income is a lot lower after taxes and rent are paid, their quality of life isn't nearly as high most Canadians (not enjoying the wide open spaces and cheap, big houses that the rest of us do), and the last I heard, voting for socialist kooks isn't a capital crime.

Ontario has had it easy, leaching off non-Ontarians for over a century. While they lead rich, easy, privileged lives, outsiders get the bill. They live in a country club society, pleasure seeking and vain, devoid of responsibility towards others. I despise them.
Whenever I hear a Toronto person speak of "social justice", I know they really mean "hand over your money so we can make Toronto the envy of the world". Well, heh, all the money in the world couldn't make that dump the envy of Calcutta. Yet Toronto's domination of the federal regime means they will use those resources to try. Need medicare anywhere outside Ontario? Don't bother - they need the money to make movies no one will watch. So much for social priorities.
You should have heard these rich people scream when the US sealed the border in response to 9/11. It was their highest priority - not terrorism or anything truly important.
I wish Ontario harm, misery, poverty and despair. I lived there and have earned the right to hate them. May they suffer horribly for their greed.

"Elmo" is rancid AND irony tone-deaf! He should be stripped of his citizenship and booted out of here by the seat of his jaballah! Ditto for all the other cast members of the C.I.C. As for the first Muslim-female-liberal MP? She's the BEST asset Harper has! How's that, you say? Well, she's a very large loose cannon, and her recent sortie against America is only the first of many many gaffs she's condemned to commit. At some point she'll become so embarassing the Liberals will simply have to kick her out. She's just determined to pee all over the carpet! Afterwards, of course, Martin ( that's the guy we call "Prime Minister") will probably become be the object of a death fatwa......a "curtoisie" of his own party's multiculturalist policies.
When it comes to those Krazy Koranic Kapers, like murdering school-tots and engaging in behavoir that is no longer recognizably human, Islam proves to be most reliable!

Uh, Scott, I may be living in some airy-fairy fantasy world here, but the last time I checked, there weren't any "No dogs, Jews or Calgarians" signs at the public pool. I appreciate your wanting to vent your anger at the economically weighted dice Ontario uses against the rest of Canada, and we are the kind of idiots who'd return an overwhelming slate of Liberals in the wake of corruption scandals, but don't you think this is a bit overstated?

A quick search of The Shotgun will turn up a few anti-Toronto rants from Scott. I am going to assume this is more hyperbole.
Of course, if me or mine are killed or injured in a terrorist attack here then I will have to remember there are people on the right of Canadian politics whose stupidity echoes that of the Liberal backbench. Now the talking points are set in stone I have no doubt that an attack on Toronto - or anywhere else in Canada - will be blamed on the United States, Israel, President Bush, etc. etc. Why should Scott be any cleverer than our elected representatives?

1) if you die in Toronto, it's your own fault. No one there cares if you live or die - they'll kill their own children for the slighest of reasons.
2) There do not have to be physical signs of racism - the people there, in my experience, make no effort to disguise their hate for Albertans. The poster "Red Ensigns for Ernie Zundel" proves that Ontarians are the true hatemongers, along with Parrish and this new one.
3) Toronto would never name anything after someone who dared question their authority. Instead, they'd name a street after murderers, terrorists and sadists. NAMBLA Street should come soon.
Having experienced Toronto racism first hand, I think I'll avoid those people like the plague. My fondest wish is that all Ontarians currently in Alberta pack up and leave.
I'll take the worst stereotypes of Americans over the "nicest" Ontarian any day. At least Americans would make an effort to be liked.
Down with fascist Ontario.

Tell that to Ceilia Zhang, Holly Jones and Farah Khan, three little girls brutally murdered by Toronto. Little Farah Khan was beheaded by her own father over $10 for school pictures - now how messed up is that!
It's a corrupt, fascist society out there, and the best thing to do is isolate it for your own protection. Alberta must erect heavily armed and protected border posts to prevent Ontarians from entering.
It's for my job, my home, my life that I do this. All others are welcome in Alberta - a land of peace and freedom, but not Ontarians who come to conquer and exploit.
There's a line from the Bayeux Tapestry: "Dear God, please protect us from the Northmen (the Vikings)". Alberta's motto should be "Dear God, please protect us from the Eastmen (Ontarians)".
